He was carried to the Mayoralty on a tide of white liberal self congratulation, a lot of hard work campaigning by people who also support Jeremy (and are now upset with Khan), and had been crowned by the mainstream media before a single vote was cast.
What I'm more interested in is how credulous you people are regarding deference to the establishment.
I don't know if it's a generational thing (Reds under the bed) or just a seam of selfishness that pervades the type of right wing (mostly men) who visit this forum.
Nevertheless, some things are evident.
None of you will countenance a poor person being £100 richer if it were to leave you a penny poorer.
You are all absolutely terrified of The Left, though what you think this is is completely uninterrogated. Some of you think The Left is something to do with foreigners, others on this thread don't like gay people, more are angry about 'layabouts'.
There is a further strand of special venom reserved for 'the young' whom are meant to pull their socks up (even before theyre born) so that they can eventually become a childless right wing middle aged man fighting communists on a forum themselves some day.
You are all so worried about The Left it seems to have escaped you attention that you have become so joyless and right wing yourselves that outside your bubble, most people are to the left of you.
You really can't help yourself, can you?
I ask you what you think of the views of the elected Mayor of London. Unarguably THE Labour politician with the highest number of the electorate's votes cast directly in his favour - over 1.1 million. Not only do you disagree with him, which of course is your right, but you slag him off, then go on another rant. The hysterical aspect is that you think a thought process like that is going to convince moderate Labour Party supporters to vote for Corbyn's Labour Party and in the final stages of losing the plot altogether you seem to believe that non-Labour party supporters will provide their votes in your cause too.
Absolutely "terrified of The Left"? (I wouldn't have given it the status of capitalisation personally, but I was quoting:cool:) I'm more terrified of ghosts - and I don't believe in ghosts:D. I'd be terrified of the left if they had the slightest chance of winning an election, but as we all know we will be well into the late 2020s before there's any chance of that once Corbyn's comrades have their show trials of the disloyal MPs and ensured the ideological purity of the collective.
Unless, of course, as I suspect, you are not interested in winning elections, and just want control of the Labour Party? Come on Rugged, they say that confession is good for the soul. Anything to confess?

All very nice apart from it was Corbyn supporters and voters who pushed Khan over the line.

Yes with good cause - look at the left say in France unemployment 10%;Spain 20%; Italy 12% or there is those other great socialist countries Venezuela, or Greece.
Socialism promises prosperity, equality, and security, it delivers poverty, misery, and tyranny.
Socialism does not work because it is not consistent with fundamental principles of human behavior. The failure of socialism in countries around the world can be traced to one critical defect: it is a system that ignores incentives.
The real choice we face is between imperfect capitalism and imperfect socialism. Given that choice, the evidence of history overwhelmingly favors capitalism as the greatest wealth-producing economic system available.
Capitalism nurtures the human spirit, inspires human creativity, and promotes the spirit of enterprise. By providing a powerful system of incentives that promote thrift, hard work, and efficiency, capitalism creates wealth.
RT I get the impression you aren't up for hard work and thrift and just want to sit around all day complaining that life's not fair and you want someone else to do the heavy lifting for you. If you were my son I would tell you to "man up" tbh.
Edit If you spent less time in political meetings and more time working then you would be better off financially. The only person who can solve your problems are you - a political party can't do it.
Er, capitalism is an economic system not an ideology. I have no problem with capitalism, I have a problem with neoliberalism.
You are confusing socialism with communism.0 -

How the trots try to rewrite history
it was the people who voted labour and for Khan that won it : not some fantasy victory for corbyn's clique. I would doubt that may Jewish areas would vote for the antisemitic Corbyn's racist clique.0 -

OK, OK........ I'll ask again - life's too short, so I'll ask one more time.
Are you actually interested in winning elections, or do you just want control of the Labour Party? How will you react when Corbyn's Labour Party (maybe he'll actually change the Party's name?) is ridiculed by the electorate?
You are the one who, I would respectfully suggest, ought to be thinking about how to achieve the implementation of policies you favour, for the simple reason that at the moment you have practically no power whatsoever. You are the one who needs to convince others, not that Corbyn can win the leadership of political party, but that he can become Prime Minister. Not the same thing at all. You MUST see that, surely?
I'm the kind of voter Labour needs to attract. How are you going to do that? Home owner. No debt. Early retired living on pension. When I started working my income tax rate was 30%. I now pay tax on my pension above the personal allowance at 20%. How high do you think that rate should be next year? Or.... perhaps the opinions of folk like me don't count? Perhaps not; if you have no regard for the views of a Labour Mayor of London or dozens of Labour MPs, I suppose there's no reason for you to have regard for the views of anyone else....... except, of course when you are fighting for votes.
Then again, given your obvious dislike (and that's putting it mildly) for differing opinions, I am left with the distinct impression that winning elections is not your top priority. I'm not convinced that attracting votes bothers you in the least. I would respectfully refer you to the questions I asked at the start of this post.

You sir, are nothing but a facist right-wing boomer.
How dare you own property and cream off money from the people by claiming a pension. Disgusting.
When our resident people's poet and his band of unwashed student liberators get hold of you, they'll tear down your capitalist den and turn it into a organic potato factory where the true workers can spend all day peeling manky spuds for sod all, while singing happily about how the great Jeremy freed us all from the misery of blairite doctrine.

I know, I know, just racked by guilt........ still, knowing that Rugged and the comrades are destroying the Labour party gives me no pleasure at all. It just astounds me that they can't see it.
An ex-Liberal Democrat? He reminds me of ex-smokers who become more vehement anti-smokers than those who have never smoked. Such hate for so many people. Sad, really sad. A former party of government reduced to student union-style bickering.
He probably doesn't even realise that one day, someone will decide that his views are impure, and he'll find himself purged too....

How did you know? Got a bed settee in it, but the room is tiny........ somewhere to hide when Mrs Wild Rover is watching Corrie and son 1 or son 2 is in the conservatory.
Must go now, it's the butler's day off and his usual stand in, the head gardener, has a bad back. I'll have to try to figure out how the electric kettle works ..........
