  • Moving house is SO STRESSFUL. I think you're allowed to feel a little burnt out about it all!

Maybe try for the easier wins (like bringing lunch from home) and reduce the CC payment to halfway between minimum payment and whatever payment you're making now, to give yourself some leeway? Sorry, I haven't read back so I don't know much that will give you.

That's worth a thought, I'll definitely consider it.

PM02 I'm wondering if it's the time of year too. Since we've started to have random nice days of sunlight I've been feeling a bit tempted to spend too. I don't know why, but it's that ooo the long winter months are over, let's go crazy! So far I haven't. But it's hard being focused all the time. And I agree with Huggle you have had such a lot on. All that business with the accident and selling a house and new jobs etc! That is A LOT to have on.

That's something I'd not considered, thanks, I think you could be right.

Totally agree with everyone else, stop being so hard on yourself. I see it as, as long as you are not ADDING to the debt, you are allowed to cut yourself some slack when needed. You have a lot going on, so it's definitely needed.

I hope you have some kind of wine in your hand, right now:)

Not adding to the debt but does delay our dfd but not overly fussed if it's only a few hundred left at the end of the 3 yr deal at least we'd have got somewhere.

P.s I have a nice glass of much needed wine :) xx
  • Hubby had a very bad day at work today and has "bitten" me, he's contemplating leaving his job and changing to another company, I think he'll come around, he's just peed off. It happens I think.

DS is on a sleepover and judging by the photos on FB, they're having a whale of a time.

DD had a great time at her friends but was rather silly with the money she was given but what's done is done.

I think I will use tomorrow to refocus and realign. Sorry if my post was pitiful, it really wasn't meant to be :o
  • Morning,

I hope everyone is ok today? Glad it's Saturday, got lots to do this weekend. Three little things......

    Little thing #1

Looking at the MBNA the minimum payment is £84.50, we currently pay anything between £200 - £250, with the aim that by the end of the three year deal it'll be paid off.

We also have BC, that's only a small amount £813.20, so don't really include it as its in the background. The minimum on that one is £16.26 but try to pay between £50 - £100.

So here's my thinking to pay both with the minimum of £200, rather than nearly £350. Then once the BC has gone pay £250 on the MBNA to clear as much as possible.

The debt will still go down but more sensibly, if you see what I mean?

    Little thing #2

Something I've been putting off, is searching through my emails for needed things for the move and clearing my emails off my devices. So this weekend, I will sort those AND dye my hair, I've been putting that off too :o

    Little thing #3

Something to make me happy, I'm going to take an hour out today and tomorrow and read my book.

Other things to do today/tomorrow look like this:

    > Change our bed- DONE
    > Food shopping- DONE
    > Washing - Work in progress
    > Washing up - DH done today's so far
    > Ironing
    > Meal plan for next week - Working on it
    > Get kids organised for school next week

I am going to take my lunch again from Monday.

Also I've noticed my OLP, is irritating me again, probably stress related, so once I've finished this bottle of wine, I'm on the alcohol free stuff again. Wine irritates it but beer doesn't? Bodies are strange.
  • I'm not sure I could cope with everything that's going on in your life right now. You're doing a grand job, and as others have said, if you aren't increasing your debt, I'd be happy with that. What a stressful time! xx

Just updated my list, small things :)

Food shop done, got sandwich stuff for work/school next week, so that'll help. Just need to sort out the meal plan, aiming to eke out what's in the freezer too.

    Feeling a bit brighter today.

ETA: Will change our bed after lunch, I'm sure that'll help too

    Thanks Misty xx
  • Bed has been changed, it's amazing what a bit of sunshine can do.

Off to Dorking shortly as DS has broken the forks on his scooter, hopefully it won't cost too much.
  • Broken forks resulted in £85 being put on the BC, DS has such a talent that he does need them, these ones are made of steel rather than aluminium.

DS is getting his hair cut tomorrow. DH has whinged at me to get mine done, told him I will once things settle down.

I feel very lethargic this evening, hope it's just a destress and nothing more.

Tomorrow is going to be better than today.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Hands up at the back, I'm not sure I followed the MBNA card slash Barclaycard goal properly. So I think you were saying you will rustle up an extra £50 and pay £200 a month to each instead of £150/£200 across the paid? But somehow that doesn't seem right? How am I misreading it?
