Morning,
It's nice to be able to log on from home
DS seemed quite settled yesterday, so that's good. Hopefully time to move on.
Both kids need to see themselves to school this morning. DD was worried about locking the front door, it doesn't really need it here as long as it's shut it'll be ok.
Nothing much to report money wise, a lot will now come out on or around the 1st of the month to make things a bit easier.
After pay day the MBNA card should be a nice round £8000, which i'm hoping to move down more.
Right off to get sorted.0 -
Good morning! Glad to here they are settling well, I'm sure DD will be fine about locking up after the first couple of times. Thanks for stopping over on my thread, that was really nice of you.
All my payments go out around payday (25th for me) too, it definitely makes things easier. All except my stupid mobile bill which goes on the 24th, how annoying!0 -
Morning,
What a week! In the office two days then moved to site for the remainder of the week. Everyone seems friendly enough and the DC system they use is mega easy. Just got to prove to my new line manager now.
Pay day yesterdaymoney moved about. The MBNA card is now down to £8000, gas/electricity bills from old house have now been paid.
Glad it's a long weekend, got loads to do in the house this weekend.
I will post a proper update later, once I've git things organised.0 -
Well done on getting the MBNA card down again!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning,
Just needed to state that I love this houseit's nice to be able to sit in the garden without having to walk down loads of steps first and to have the same luxury when it comes to hanging out the washing. I can here the slight noise of the motorway but it's not excessive and if anything it's the resident birds chirping that's making the most noise
:rotfl:
This is the happiest I've felt in a very very long time and long may it continue.
I promised that I'd post a proper update once I've got things sorted, I'm part way there. I still need to do the finances and sort the budget, the kids are on the laptop at the moment so I'll do it this afternoon.
Thames Water sent the DD payment plan through £42pm as opposed to £33 at the old place, they come out twice a year to read the meter and adjust the DD accordingly.
Did the food shopping yesterday, just need to get a few bits today then I plan to just buy essentials for the next two weeks before I do another shop. Will do the meal plan once I've got the other bits.
Changed the address on my driving license yesterday, once my new one comes through I can send my old one back.
Four weeks til payday.
Work wise, I plan to take my lunch to work again, this has been a bit lax due to the move so need to get a grip on it again. Site is not far from Holborn station and there's a lovely park opposite site so I plan to make use of that during my lunch.
Spending wise, I'm back to £10pw, it was going well before the move so I need to get back in to the habit again.
My mum & stepdad are coming down the middle of June and bringing washing powder and fabric softener :T so that's the rest of the year sorted lol
Home wise I said to DH that I think once we get to the end of May we will know for definite where we need to tweak the budget and what we can do different. He agreed.
Washer has just finished. Back later x0 -
Lovely update! You sound like I did when we moved to our house 18 months ago. It just felt right straight away, even though it was a head rather than a heart purchase! I don't see us moving.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.0 -
I didn't do it....the budget that is. Kept putting it off and in the end it was too late.
On the plus side all the washing I hung out yesterday dried before the heavens opened
Went to run a service wash on the washer and it doesn't have one? The hottest option is a normal 60 degree wash, so I put a bottle of white vinegar in and ran it on that one instead.
Have sorted the menu list for the next two weeks bar a few days.
Need to get diesel today.
Round up of April
Good things
Moved house
Made a bit of money from the move including an extra £23 that came through by cheque on Thursday.
DH's car insurance reduced by £30pm due to new area.
Did my driving course & had confirmation back that no further action will be taken.
MBNA card is going down again
Meal plan kind of worked
Both kids settled in schools and appear to have made friends
Both kids settled in their respective 'units' outside school
Not so good things
Didn't do the finances
My mobile number appears to have been sold on due to another spam call last night
DS's number also spammed due to incompetent GF (hopefully now ex-gf)
Cost of travel has gone up by £200, need to work that in the budget
Barclaycard has crept up, but not as much as I thought and is still manageable.0 -

A good month despite the problems with ds girlfriend, sounds like you're really enjoying your new home.
Good luck with getting finances sorted, mine's an ongoing battle at the moment.
