I hope today is going well. I've sent a pm ;)

    Perseverence? Bull-headed stubbornness, I'd call it... :rotfl::D;)

  • Hi Smolly, I've been having a quick catch up.
About the extra text message charges. Get on to the mobile phone company. I'm not sure if it's cos I was on a contract or not, but I had extra charges added onto my bill, and I queried it. Got the charges removed, and the numbers locked, so that I couldn't have extra charges added to my account again.

I hope you're feeling better after your indoor skiing episode (Naughty puppy)
Missing my money saving mojo. :o

  • Hi Smolly,

Hope you're ok? Have we lost you under an eBay pile? Xx
  • Families know how to push your buttons and seemingly don't grow out of it, no matter what the circumstances are.

Don't they just! Mine certainly do.

Our Mum taught us to 'count to 10' I think I'm up to 475,000,000 :)

Smolly, I hope you're being kind to yourself and things are improving.

    Take care xx

    Fourth Anniversary
    Hello Folks!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to check on me.:o

Sorry I seem to have been awol for a little - this work malarkey is really something else! I'm shattered but it feels good to be back. I've been trying to keep on top of other things like housework and there just doesn't seem to be a lot of time for other stuff! Plus last night was mother night so I definitely didn't have time for anything else!!

OK - so after my eBay listing the other night I haven't had a chance to do anymore but I am hoping to get some done this weekend as I have decided I AM GOING TO DO MY OWN THING!:rotfl:

I have to take the car back to the garage for the floppy handbrake issue and whilst I'm near the town will sneak in a cheeky mystery shop. I did one Wednesday and Thursday too so I'm being a busy little Smolly.

I've also had some good news this week. My PPI claim has been accepted and whilst it isn't a huge amount it's an amount that can make a difference. I'm not getting too excited about it because it's with the N@tWest and I owe them £1100 on an overdraft. The money will automatically go to that account and of course it will be lost forever but I will have a drastically reduced debt. I would love to receive the money by cheque though so that I can repay Mum and bro instead, but at the end of the day I'll go with whatever. My debt will still be reduced. I am going to write and tell them of my circumstances however - just in case they will consider it.

The other bit of good news is that I asked and I received. I told OH that I was down £200 and could he help out as I needed help with groceries and my petrol. He gave me £50. Ok so it's not going to last through the month but he gets paid on the 15th so am hoping I can ask again as no mystery shop money seems to be coming through, including my really big one from the other week.

There is some other good news about a really good mystery shop I've been given but I can't obviously mention it but I'm chuffed to bits as it really benefits me. It won't feel like work at all.

And FINALLY - there I was talking about the price of breasts:eek: (the chicken variety) and wondering if I could manage to bulk buy some and freeze, when karma intervened and I ended up with 7.5kg of chicken for FREE. It had been defrosted and needed cooking within a couple of days so all this evening I've been cooking and freezing. I can't believe I could fit it in the freezer. OH was grumbling about the length of time the oven was on and was saying it wasn't very nice chicken (it is - he is just being OH) but as he's going to be eating it for his dinners for the next month he's going to have to get used to it!

So that's about all of my news this week. I feel very lucky and quite content. :D I'm going to try and send a few more PPI letters off....just in case. The eBay room is getting emptied slowly and I am still waiting for my refund of the text message charges - I will keep on top of this one!

I will leave this here for now - I have a couple of Pinecone surveys to do which I don't want to miss out on. You have to grab 'em while you can!

Hope everyone is ok and thank you all again for looking out for me and checking I am ok. You lot are a lovely bunch xx :D

  • Hello! Glad you're OK!

You've reminded me - I've not seen any Pinecone surveys in AGES - I must email them!

Great news on the PPI as well - I've only ever had one set that was mis-sold annoyingly (Northern Rock loan - they told me that giving me the loan was conditional on my taking their PPI) but I reclaimed that. :D

Hope you get your floppy handbrake sorted - mine got done today - collecting tomorrow and will have to get used to it not feeling like it's pulling up far enough, no doubt!

  • I'm so glad things are going well, Smolly!

How on earth did you get so much chicken for free? I've received some vouchers for two free chicken breasts at Tesco, along with some wonky apples and thought I was doing really well!

Great news about the PPI, even if you won't "see" the money. It will be a relief to have a bit more debt gone, even though it's not paying your brother back.

Good on you for emptying the ebay room. Have you mentioned to your mum that she will have a new place to stay? My ebay things finally have some bids - one pair of £1 shoes is not at £11.50! :T

I hope you have a lovely weekend xx
