Afternoon all, still in Edinburgh for another few hours before heading up the road. Everyone shove over and make room for me on the naughty step - I've totally lost track of what I've spent, will do a tally while travelling but it really wouldn't surprise me if I'd spent double what I budgeted :o:o the mojitos at the Ed!nburgh gin garden are mostly to blame :o
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.9.25 - £106,033.77
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £0.35/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £738.97

Greent welcome to the step gang. All the cool kids are here. Its a bit like The Breakfast Club, you can bring the Malteasers but 'dont you forget about me"

Ahhhh - that song takes me straight back to leaving 5th form (as it was back then :D) - it was our anthem (as it was for so many) x
Greent - 8 chocolate buttons. You counted them as you ate them...??!

Yep! :D Counting the maltesers the other night was easier - 1 (whole sharing bag:o:o)

    I love Edinburgh - fab city :)

Hmm... already blown plans for LSD. Bought school socks (25 pairs!), a baby outfit (gift), new bath mat (ours was over 7 years old and faded and no-longer fluffy and I had been looking at replacing it - then OH got bleach on it yesterday... very glad I hadn't got around to buying a new one a couple of months ago!) and a new onesie for DS2 all from M&S online. Did go through cashback and total spend was all covered in vouchers earned through TCB, so not all bad news :p Also bought new boxers for DS3 (he's 7 and I realised his are mainly aged 3-4.... no wonder they're snug! :o:D) Finally - shopping at Tesc0 produced no YS items :( I did snag an Angry Birds duvet cover for DS3 reduced to £6, though - he only has one set, so another makes life easier. I also bought a bday card for BF and exam congrats cards for DD & DS1 (hopefully I'm not being premature!) After some vouchers I spent just under £50 :(

In order to try to redeem myself a little, dinner will be YS pork from the freezer for those who like roast and lo pasta for those who don't! :D I have also made approx. 10pts of laundry gloop with free hotel soap bars and topped up one of the handwash bottles with free hotel shampoo and then used the last dregs in the bottles in hot water to wipe down the kitchen sides and hob. 3 loads of washing have been line-dried and I have cut the bottom off one of DD's Superd*y tshirts to make it a cropped(ish - around belly button length) one with a rolled up rough bottom edge (it had a quite large hole in the area cut off) - I appreciate it won't last, but another few wears out of it should be good :)

    xx

Ha ha on DS3 pants, things like that happen to me all the time :)

Glad the song brought back good memories :) i actually got to see Molly Ringwold on stage in a play a few years ago. It was when Harry met Sally. She is still so beautiful.

    Evening all

I spent yesterday gutting DD's BR so have quite a few things to carboot. This also meant that it was a NSD. Today wasn't but I managed to get DS 3 pairs of school trousers and a pair of shoes for £11.60 from BHS. I want to try and go again with my DD before it closes next weekend.

    Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend.

  • I have spent this weekend completely floored with this nasty bug. Unfortunately it still didn't turn out to be no spend. We were down to our last toilet roll, so I had to send the boys out for some basics. I wrote a very detailed list for them which I reckoned would have been less than £50 in Mr M and they came back having spent £94  J2O, 48 bags of crisps and 32 chocolate bars among other things. Reminds me why I'm a bit of a control freak... :p
I feel as though I have been very lazy indeed and that there are an awful lot of jobs that need to be done that I just can't be bothered to do. Boo hiss.

  • Morning turtles,

I’ve spent every day this weekend including Friday, not good so back on the road this week. Going for 5 in a row!

All my breakfasts and lunches are sorted already and I’ll get by with using the food in the fridges and freezers and no extra activities planned either until Saturday.

    We can do this!

I'm not confident they'll last more than a week :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Normal service should resume today though as I'm feeling quite a bit better this morning. Still aching from head to toe when I move but at least I'm up and about.

Yep I could see the same in our house. Honestly no one tells you that an almost 8 year old boy will eat more than I do. I am struggling to keep my bills down really. He can now eat a whole pizza and look for pudding. Me and OH share one between us. Obviously I discourage this but if he is hungry and asking for more??

Sorry for not checking in but not a lot is happening here atm. Lots of sleeping and lost myself in a good book (well a whole series of books). Hope to get moving sometime this week but feel I needed time to just let things settle.

Not doing great on SFDs as I am impulse buying (not much appetite so sometimes going to buy what I fancy - as long as it is simple to prepare) and some days I have been out shopping and then remember something I missed (bought apples and salad today but forgot I was down to 1 crisp bread).

Today I am grateful for lovely drying weather (although a bit too hot for me to be outside), for sleep (patchy overnight but caught up during the day) and libraries.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
