Hi everyone, sorry I've been absent for so long life felt difficult for me I don't think I coped with retirement very well but I'm fine and dandy now. I have missed you all and haven't read here for months but I'm back now and will cheer you all on from the sidelines this month and will join again in September.I'm still debt and mortgage free and gave most of my inheritance to my children as they need it more than me so I'm still being frugal as its a way of life for me,(kept some for places and countries I want to visit)

    Morning all.

I was up with the lark this morning, woke really early and couldn't get back to sleep.

Minimal spends yesterday, bought a present and card for DH's birthday today but we only buy a token gift and it was budgeted for. Tonight we are having a takeaway for his birthday and again the money is set aside for that. Apart from that I am hoping to keep spends low today.

Hope Mr Dolly had a good birthday:T

    Hi all.

No money spent yesterday apart from the takeaway as planned.

I will be offline for a few days now, I am going away and won't have internet connection, see you all next week. Have a good week.

    Have a lovely break dolly

Today will not be a SFD as I'm taking all the winter quilts to the laundrette as the weather forecast for the next week looks great so they can dry on the line.

Might get round to doing the second coat of paint on the door, if not I'll pick another item off my 'big jobs list'.

    Have a good day all

Dolly - hope you have a good break away :)

CCL - hope you feel better today x

Morning all! :D (thank you for all your thoughts xx)

SPENDS: NSD managed yesterday :) DS1 went away to army cadet camp for 2 weeks - did give him some cash to take away as spends (matched what he took) but that was already taken out and accounted for. I still need to review our money and find out where we are. OH hasn't had a job/ contract since the end of Jan..

THINGS: Got rid of random things in possessions yesterday. Retrieved a bag full of rubbish and another of recycling from DS1's room - along with lots of washing and some washing up - grrrr! Threw away his boot bag from PE kit (has him name in bright yellow in 1 inch high letters all over it) - OH tried to save it with 'what if he wants it for golf or something when he's older?' - didn't work - it went. His DT apron and PE kit have gone into textiles recycling (again with bright yellow name on in 1" high letters on)
From DS3's room I had a small pile of clothes and toys to go (with his agreement) which have already been priced up for the next NNS in Oct and anther small pile of clothes for recycling. OH spent hours (literally - about 3.5!!!) cleaning our bathroom (it wasn't that bad, honest - he decided to take the shower apart and sort an issue at the same time) which finished up 3 bottles of cleaning products, only 1 of which will be replaced. I got rid of a brand new with tags scarf (gifted to me but not my style) some past-its-best underwear and 3 items of decorating type clothes (recycled) I also boxed up any good condition uniform (unbranded with any school crest/ names) of DS1's with the idea it may work for DS2. I boxed up another box of items for Ziffit and have an ongoing box for the CS (currently has about a dozen items (CDs) in - would like to fill it before taking it there) Sorted out a soon-to-be 4yo's present/ card/ gift bag from stash and a new baby card and confetti from stash (will need to get baby something though - but was only born yesterday)
The ironing is all up straight again, so I want to tackle my clothes again post-holiday.

FOOD: same old-same old. Some choices better than others. No wine yesterday and only 8 choc buttons, though :D

PEOPLE: all was quiet yesterday - no calls/ messages - much more relaxing! ;)

WANTS V NEEDS - I don't think I've done this. The only wants I've had I've given into (such as going out to buy maltesers at 9pm) - make room for another one on the step!! :D:D

Will need to spend a small amount on food today (including yet more milk!!) Should be a LSD though - and am looking to use food up from fridge/ freezer/ cupboards as much as possible. With DS1 away that's harder than normal, as he and I are the un-fussy ones who eat the leftovers/ random items up

Looks to be another lovely day here - washed DS1's bedding (inc duvet) overnight and it is now on the line. Will do another load when others are awake (only myself and DS3 up at the mo)
