Wow - great ebay sale, Bob!:T

Love that quote, apple. Hope you and your mum are doing as well as can be expected xx

    Mothernerd - fab weight loss!:j

Fmess - hope the mozzie bites are easing up :(

Weighed in at SW this morning - 2lb gain - which was pretty good after 3 weeks in America with not that much attention being paid to what I was eating :p:o:)

Food - lots of fruit, veggies and lean protein eaten today - and 3 digestive biscuits
Stuff - 2 carrier bags of items dropped at CS this morning. Another filled this afternoon. Duplicate item returned to shop - £8 refund received :)
Money - had to tax 2 cars today (well, could have waited, but like to get it out of the way) and pay for 12 week countdown at SW. Also had to pay £1.47 postage. But we did exchange unused $ back to GBP - and even made a profit on them (around £40!) :D - will be paid on to OH's one CC (repaying it in full)
Exercise - appalling - 5.5k steps and 9 active minutes according to my fitbit.
People - am dealing with my late uncle's estate. Lots of family grief (as in aggravation and anger) surrounds this. Had conversations with my mum and my aunt today about it. Tomorrow I will need to visit my nan for info to deal with probate forms. Not looking forward to that - she and he fell out and most of the family took sides and it caused a horrible rift. Since his death she has been almost literally cackling with glee at the thought of the money she will receive (he was unmarried and died intestate) and it's all quite vile and people are throwing accusations around :(:(

Don't worry thrifty. I'm juggling Peter, Paul, Phillip and Percy this month.

Hello bobarella, still here-ish. Just combatting overwhelmedness atm so just popping in to read occasionally. Plus life throws boulders in my path financially etc and i steer off and loose track. Just everything seems so unpredictable. A lot of robbing Peter to pay Paul going on. Need to get my act together hopefully for next month.

I do know what you mean Thrifty. But still miss all your interesting posts.

  • Another NSD yesterday.

Need to remember to update my sig as I don’t think I did it for Monday either!

I’ve found that this challenge has really helped me plan my spending in advance which, for me, is the trick to spending less. It’s the impromptu events that end up costing more than I’d have liked, but if I can plan to spend in a day it also then forces me to be organised.

fmess - hope the bites go down soon.

greent - sounds like and awful situation you are in. Well done though on keeping your weight gain to a minimum.

Today will be spendy. Me and the kids are going out on the train - £5.25 for tickets plus some lunch out - all from the 6 week hols budget. Then tonight I am out with two friends for a drink. Will try to fit a run in before I go out.

Yesterday the kids wanted to do pottery painting but the place was closed so we ended up with just a £1.65 spend on snacks to eat by the canal.

    Morning all

A NSD for me yesterday so that's 2 so far. Off canoeing tonight with the Cubs so that will count as my exercise for the day I think. Currently trying to declutter the kitchen and get it in some sort of order - then on to the rest of the house!

Thinking of your apple and greent.

    Have a good day all

  • Morning all :hello:
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm plodding on and enjoying my August as I always do. It does mean that I get fewer nsd's than usual but that's why I work so hard during June and July with the exam marking  Thankfully there has been a little bit of extra cash this month, even after taking into account dh's reduced wages so I feel less guilty about the trips to London and Alton Towers. Still means I need to be careful though.
Greent - sorry to hear of your family problems. It's 6 years (today actually) since my mil died, and I still feel very sensitive even now over the fallout that ensued in dealing with the estate. Hope that you get through it ok.
Well done on that huge sale Bob - happy days.
So, I have a friend coming to visit today which means we'll go out to the pub for lunch so it won't be a nsd. I also need to get some flowers as I always do on mil's anniversary. Other than that I'll do my best to keep the spends down so I don't lose control.
Hope everyone has a god day

Well done Mothernerd 11lbs fantastic :TI have been useless and dress I have for a wedding is going to be very snug in a weeks time..

Off to Dublin tomorrow until Monday, hopefully I will try not to spend too much and have some fun. Think friend I am staying with has me down as an agony aunt though.:(

Fmess good luck with the mozzi bites, hope they are starting to clear up.

Thrifty hope you come up fighting soon.:grouphug:

Greent - been in your situation and it is awful. Hope you had an amazing holiday.

Not much news in my life. Hamstring better, had work on my back last night so feel better today. Not doing enough exercise and diet gone out the window. Had an interesting weekend old bf wanted to meet up Saturday dinner and Sunday went for Sunday lunch with new one. Keeping my options open?:o

Keep going folks all inspiration to me:wave:
