    Morning

Have had quite the day of it already!

I had to be on site for 9am this morning due to a 4 hour parcel pick up slot. I tore out of the house managing to get me and DD ready before 8, and deal with a delightful nappy leakage bedding situation before that. Super Mum right!
We were early. I was supposed to have a guy arriving at 9.10 to collect the item I mentioned receiving £50 for. Only he didn't show.

Whilst here I noticed a horrible noise coming from my boiler. Managed to get hold of the lovely plumber used to use who amazingly came out within the hour.
He showed me that the boiler needed to be topped up and that my pump was in real danger of breaking because it hadn't been. Which is what the horrible noise was and why the water was only tepid. He was here all of 15 minutes and I now have a lovely bill of £40 to pay.

I checked my bank this morning. I have £5 in one account and £12 in the other.

The guy who is supposed to be coming to pick up the item told me he would be coming back my way. But I haven't seen him yet and I'm only supposed not be here another 1 hour 15.

No sign of the parcel being collected....

Good news, I am expecting £150 from two separate sources, (plus the £100 that I was peed off not to have recieved already, but I obviously can't count on that because the woman's a jerk)

Everything has worked out really well regarding the situation yesterday, and I am actually really looking forward to developing a marketing plan to maximise the revenue the new party can generate.

But right now sitting here with no money, and feeling this whole week has been out of my control I am not very happy. Please let my man turn up and pay me this money soon! Please let my parcels be collected so I don't have to waste any more of my day sitting here, and please let some money arrive in my account today!

    :)Hello All

So today ended up a good day all told. The item was collected and the £50 paid. I also received £100 from a booking. Point in case, we discussed the money, an hour later it was in the account. That's how it should be. Not pretend to book and let me chase after you for 3 weeks!

I walked down to the bank to pay the cash in and transferred the £40 straight to the plumber and £50 to us.

I had packed food for the day as I knew we'd be out from 8 to 4.30 at the earliest and I made a couple of herbal teas at work. I knew we needed a loaf today and was debating how I could get us one without breaking a NSD. My initial plan was to wait till I got home and OH was in then head up to MrT with the contents of my roadkill pot. But then what did I spy but a lovely £1 coin, right on the busy high street, outside Clark's, so in I swooped.
I used it to buy a loaf and a packet of bourbon biscuits and came away with 10p. Also found 1p today too.

I had an enquiry about a long term hire, which I can't do as it counts as subletting. And another former client wanted a 3 day stretch that I can't do as it's already sold. So that's nice to feel wanted.

I took some leaflets around to various cafes advertising a show we are hosting next month. All in all I think I've walked about 6 or 7 miles today. But it's good, the weather's been mild, and it keeps my travel costs right down. At the moment they offer a hopper service on the buses, so if you take 2 buses within an hour they only charge you for 1. I only really use the buses on the way back from school as it's too far for us to all walk and we just want to get home. So I have pushed my bus costs down to about £1.50 a day, which is the cost of a single bus ride. I know my top ups are lasting a lot longer anyway.

Have just given the children tea, pasta pesto with a jar that had a scrape left, but pesto goes a long way. DD just had fresh tomatoes with hers but DS had about an inch of chorizo added in, plus tom's. Cheap, uses up the leftovers and they are fed.

Think that's me, I may try for an unplugged evening :)

  • Hello Bob,
Sorry I haven't caught up from September, just the last few posts.
Am glad the bookings are coming in for you, once people start referring you it will be like a landslide and you won't know what's hit you :)
I know it's hard to have to tighten belts when cash flow is slow, but something will always turn up to get you through (like the shiny pound coin :)

The funny things kids say... you'll remember them always and they bring a smile on when you least expect and most need it:).

    Also, Thank you.

    Hey All

Super quick post as I have a meeting in less than an hour.

Today my account had another £100 in it. Another £50 confirmed to reach me today. That's £300 been paid in since yesterday. Now you can see how up and down my life is. Yesterday I was worrying how my husband was going to get home from work because I didn't know if his oyster would work. Today I have been able to go shopping and top up our cupboards again.
I also paid £10 off my CC bringing it up to 65% repaid this year. And I made a £5 donation to the Red Cross Disaster fund which I've been meaning to do since I recieved a mail shot from them last month.

Anyway got to run. Thank you all so much for your support on this diary.

    Hello All

A funny time to log in for me, but I had a meeting cancel on me (I was actually SO glad) so a little extra time appeared in my day.

I am actually very tired today. Its been a long week with a lot of physical activity, plus emotional stress, lack of cash etc, & its all catching me up. Last night I was up till almost 12 working on some comms for the new client I mentioned. He is currently very pleased so that is good.

I decided to hit the trail early this morning & managed to make a lasagne for dinner, also because we wont get home till 7 tonight as its the school disco, which I am volunteering at. So at least I know dinner is sorted. The last few nights me and OH havent been sitting down to eat till 9.30 and then the babies been back down stairs super quick, or we've had those nights where one or both of you is working on your laptop and trying to eat as well. Hopefully tonight can be a quiet one.

I also managed to fully clean the kitchen for the first time in ages this morning, scrubbed down the counter, tiles, cupboard doors, emptied the food recyling into the compost heap and scrubbed out the caddy. Plus swept and mopped the floor. Also did the little downstairs loo which just needed a once over.
The house is by no means clean in total, but the beds have all been changed this week, and there is no washing to catch up on, plus all dry washing is away, so its livable.

Checked my credit card statement this morning and the dreaded interest charging period commences again next month. Would be looking at £15 interest if I do nothing.
I need to find the time to look through my other cards and see if any of them are doing 0% BT, really dont want to go through the faff of opening a new one (not that I have in a long time)

I forfitted a NSD today due to being tired and dozy at the till in Costalotts. OH had my card, which had free points to use up for a drink, so I had to pay. Annoying but, hardly the end of the world.

I really cant wait to get to the 23rd December which is when I will shut down for a whole week, possibly longer depending on bookings. I will know at that point that I have no business rent to pay for 2 whole lovely long months, and I can rest. Its been a hell of a year.

    Have a great day!

    Bob
