Morning
Have to go in a sec and let today's booking in. Really hope it's popular!
Thanks so much for asking Mummytogirls, Hidden & Parsniphead he LOVED it! Success at last!
When we got there he was so tense and I could see him eyeing up who else was there and having stayed till all the kids were sat and listening to the facilitators me and DD slipped off. I didn't really know what to do for the duration as it's 4 hours and not close to home. Wanted to be close by in case they had to call me. So me and DD had a lovely time at the local playground then the library and then another playground, but no call.
Got back for 5 and he was so happy. They let me see his work and he'd worked really hard, so far they've come up with their storyboards, then by the end of today will be working on models. I am so relieved that there is something he is enjoying.
In all honesty I think from what he's said the issue with camps stems from poor discipline at one when he was only 5 (reception year summer hols) we were paying through the nose for him to attend what we thought was a wonderful day camp in a local school with swimming pool and about 50 options for play. But he had trouble with one of the other older children who kept swearing at him. He apparently told the supervisors 5 times and yet the other child was allowed to stay at the camp.
I'm not saying he is perfect far from it, but it's hard for young children to feel that those who misbehave are not picked up for it. Especially bullying.
Since then he's been very unhappy about going to anything new where he doesn't know anyone.
There are so many free activities in London, when you don't need set hours. Before when I worked all day I couldn't take advantage of the 2 to 4 hour camps and groups as you would still need someone to get them there and back. So I'm sort of a rookie to this, and having had DS in full day care from 8 months pretty much, I'm new to this SAHM thing too. But there are loads of things for DD to do as well. Hope they will enjoy their classical music and art today
Bye

Awww im so glad DS enjoyed his day Bob
, how annoying about the other place. Kids do notice the injustice when unruly kids get away with murder and wonder why they could never get away with that. Its not on at all though but the way of the world as I tell my girls.
Hope today is a good one for you xxMummytogirls x0 -
So glad it went well
Hopefully it will help to build his confidence that not everywhere is the same as the bad place!
Hope you have a lovely day.0 -
