:eek::eek: and more  at least you found it quickly even if it wasn't in the right place. I randomly found a DD that was due out on 30th only went out today. It's like financial institutions are suprised by a 28 day month :rotfl:

How odd about your DD! And yes! When I heard from them, they didn't seem at all bothered about the fact they had made the error. It isn't like February doesn't happen every year!

I had that happen to me. My sweep is set up on 28th because I get paid on the last working day of the month. Unfortunately that was Tuesday this week and I logged on Wednesday to find out I was almost £100 overdrawn. Took me a second to realise what had happened.

Utter madness. I hope you didn't incur charges?

No, they give you until the end of the day to get back in credit. Which I did straight away.

    Amen to that :)

My OH is a programmer and he says it's just stupidity. Someone programmed the system to do a sweep every 30 days instead of working on the principle of taking the first day of the new month minus 1 to find the last day. And these people work in banking

Phew glad you got the account sorted, I don't know how people don't check their bank account regularly. My Mum has a set day for logging on to her account and doing 'the bills', I couldn't last a day without checking and on some days several times a day!

Hope you've got lots of booking for the weekend and you have some nice family time too.

  • Hi Bob, just thought I'd pop by and say hello.

The business sounds exciting, very much like something I'd like to do (although not so brave to do it!). Hope lots of those enquiries turn into bookings very soon.

Thanks Huggle I am also glad I check each day! In a case like your Mum's surely they'd have to refund any charges??

Hope you have a good one planned too :)

Thanks for coming over Ave I think we can all be brave when we want to. But sometimes risk is just too much. For now. There's always the future. Thank you very much :)

    Hello Paws

Don't worry it has nothing to do with D I C K Van Dyke kicking up his heels and stepping in time. :rotfl:
A sweep is an automated process you set up on your account that just pushes all your leftover wonga (stops to laugh hysterically at the very concept) into your savings account at the end of each calendar month. I was thinking of adding the odd 50p to our account not dumping OHs entire salary for the month into said account. Because it was set for a 30 day cycle February and it's cunning 28 days totally broke their system. Must be hard being an enormous bank with so many opportunities to F it up (poor dears):T
