    Greetings

    Well February did not go out like a lamb for me. That will teach me to tally up early. Yesterday I had 4 enquiries! I am rushing out again shortly but just wanted to do my update before another day goes by.

    Wealth

    * The switch over with my personal account seems to be ok. All except for First Utility who couldn't manage to take my direct debit despite it being in place and FD confirming all was working. So now I need to make a manual payment to them.

    * I now have my cheque book, paying in book and pin number for my new business account so I can commence the switch process there too. I also need to remind myself to update PayPal, who I have my card machine with, to make sure payments taken on card go to the new account.

    * Ended Feb on 28 enquiries in the end. I think two from yesterday will be fruitful.

    * I have put my council tax payment break money of £138 to one side for now. It would have gone straight off the card but now I'm sitting on my ££ instead.

    * Have so far spent £59 on groceries this week. That means I have £11 left if I want to stick to the £70 per week mark/£280 per month. I am still trying to stock up and it's going very well. I am buying one or two extra dry cupboard items per shop, and then getting much bigger sizes (where the most economical option) on fresh goods like today £1.90 for 4k of potatoes. I also put two packs of 2 grilled chicken portions that were reduced to £1 each into the freezer, & a bag of sweet corn.

    * Meal plan for the next 3 days

    - Jacket potatoes with tuna and melted cheese plus salad
    - Lasagne & home made wedges
    - Spaghetti bol

    At that point it will be Saturday and I can decide what to get in for the weekend or stretch things for etc.

    * Got a free coffee with my points today.

    * Found 2p roadkill

    Health

    * Lots of walking as you'd guess.

    Organisation

    * Dusted our bedroom today.

    * Threw out a load of old stuff of my son's (broken glow in the dark skeleton bits etc)

    * DD had leftover pasta and Bolognese for lunch.

    * Packed snacks for son's after school. He will be starving as they've been on a field trip today.

    * Did a job off the annoying jobs list (taping a kids book DD had ripped)

    Back later

    Bob

  • Great news on the extra enquiries in Feb! I love it when a little surprise flurry like that happens.
    Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
    Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.

    Brilliant news that you're now averaging one enquiry every single day. That's fantastic in such a short space of time as well. I'm so pleased for you.

    Thank you. It's possibly a pay day flurry, I am monitoring all my metrics a lot closer now, dates enquiries flop, average weekly takings, enquiry to booking ratios. Spot the former Marketing geek :)

    Thank you Cat. It is pretty much that now. Sadly I seem to get a lot of hot spots where 3 or 4 people will all go for the same date. So nothing to be done about that. I think I lose more business by not having the date available than any other reason.

    Good afternoon

    Just recovering from a heart attack caused by logging into my new First Direct account and finding that some horrible computer gremlin had taken every penny of our monthly budget and dumped it into our savings account!

    I nearly fainted till I realised what must have happened. I had set up an automated sweep to take any money left in there on the 30th of each month and put it into our savings account so goodness knows why it happened today on the 2nd of the month!

    Well that was an interesting 5 minutes anyway!!! Have emailed them funny enough ;)

    :eek::eek::eek: and more :eek: at least you found it quickly even if it wasn't in the right place. I randomly found a DD that was due out on 30th only went out today. It's like financial institutions are suprised by a 28 day month :rotfl:

    I had that happen to me. My sweep is set up on 28th because I get paid on the last working day of the month. Unfortunately that was Tuesday this week and I logged on Wednesday to find out I was almost £100 overdrawn. Took me a second to realise what had happened.
