Hugs YL why on earth should you not have a hobby? I presume then that he does nothing away from the family other than paid stuff? Why do people expect everyone to be the same as them / have the same priorities?

  • Yesterday was a bit of a write-off housework wise! But I did manage to keep the kitchen spotless and the living room fairy tidy. A very stressful day, but only two more days and we go to stay with family, I can't wait!

    Today:
    Clean toilet
Clean the sills and polish mirrors
    Empty the bin
Top up the loo roll dispenser
    Shine the sink
    Polish the taps
    Wipe all surfaces/sills
Wipe bath & tiles with hot soapy water
    Clean the floor

I hope everyone has a good day today, it's looking a bit miserable outside here. I hope the weather improves!

A slow start to the day...

Going into town with DH shortly to buy ingredients for 60 ham and cheese salad rolls for the German teenagers who are coming to give a free concert at church this evening - so this afternoon's job will be to get everything ready.

Will catch up later. Hope everyone has a good day x
  • Hello,

Daily stuff nearly done, starting on list now but have DD1's friend here until teatime so not sure how much I'll manage to do. It all depends whether they leave DD2 out or play nicely.

Dizzy you sound very happy, here's to more showers on your own!

YL the only time I really have to myself is when I'm walking the dog. Even though I love walking, it is still a job that needs to be done so some days it doesn't really work as "me time". However the same really goes for my OH, and we have talked many times about needing a hobby and/or having more fun. At the moment for us it is all paid stuff, housework, house renovations, eating and sleeping. What time we do take off tends to be more focused on the children. The thing is though, if I said to him I needed to do something just for me, he would be supportive. Could you rearrange your working hours in some way that gives you more time? I have just done this, (with help from Oh) and it already has made a difference. Hugs x

Bossy- kitchen looks lovely. I love the glass splash back!!! We are having cream wooden cupboards and an oak worktop so still deciding if the glass splashback is too modern? I've had a look on line and there are some lovely designs but difficult to see prices- which makes me think they are expensive!!! Can I ask which company you went with? Can't wait to see the other end of the kitchen!!!

Atb- hugs. It must be a really hard time for you x x x

Kids are at church summer camp for two hours this morning so I dropped them off and nanny is picking up. (Expecting them soon!!!)
So in that time I have had the car cleaned inside and out, a load of washing and filled the dw (including my new glasses that I got yesterday!!), portioned up the meat I got from the butchers yesterday., tidied up a bit and sorted some paper work out, sorted out fridge and bins, rang nursery and a had a long chat with manager and fed little miss.
In a bit I need to go to my physio app at hospital, take little miss into town to get her passport sorted and then take the boys swimming. No more flying until 5pm!!!

Pigpen- hope you are ok. It seems really quiet on here without you!!

Quick visit so that you know I haven't completely vanished. Currently in Lurk mode, as Fidget is taking up a lot of my time and energy - she's a gorgeous black'n'white Staffie Cross.

Off now to chuck a tennis ball in the garden..........

Hello all. Still not flying here. Have been shopping this morning, treating myself to few little treats with my birthday money.

This afternoon, I will put ready meals in the microwave, wash up and relax.

Hope you're all having a great day.

I have been on my feet most of the day - shopping, cooking lunch, putting so as in the WM and making up 30 ham and 30 cheese rolls with cucumber, tomato and lettuce, so I'm now sitting on the sofa with an ice pack on my foot and a cup of tea at hand. I've cut down further on my tablets today too :)

Another 45 minutes and then we must go out to set up for the concert.

Nicki, I meant to say yesterday (or was it the day before?) that your savings so far this year are very impressive :T
