A depressing realisation

I have to admit to loving Benefit... But I am trying to only buy something once a month or when I have some Boots Voucher (I get points to then) But I like to wear make-up that makes my skin feel nice.
Although I have eaten so much junk food recently I look like a teenager again!! So any tips there would be good, and I know my diet could improve!Current debt - £16,300

You just found one of my secret vices LOL
I am a sucker for BOGOFs on toiletries etc too. I have a big tub of shower gels etc which I am using up fortunately my make up preference is number 7 not a more expensive brand and I do take advantage of the deals on foundation and mascara as I use both most days.
Don't mention the cleaning cupboard which is similarly over stashed
 hey sweetie,
I think it's hard line to walk - balancing the obviously sensible MSE move of stocking up while there's a special offer on, with not buying stuff we don't need a la MSE.
After all, we all use shower gel etc don't we? (We've just finished our stash but it took a good few months to do it and there's four of us!)
I'm not able to be sensible enough to do without my Touche Eclat but I've decided that if I don't get one for Christmas I'll buy myself one next time they're giving away freebies and maybe sell the extras on eBay.
So I'm waiting for the best time to buy it which is kind of MSE when you think about it.

Hey Jacks
The freebies you get with No 7, have you got a young lady you could make a cosmetic hamper thingy for? I was chatting to one the girls in Boots who does this for her grand daughterCurrent debt - £16,300

I am totally with you all on this. While I was a DFW I religiously used up all my bottles that were cluttering up the bathroom cupboard.
Now I am DF I still love cosmetics but I have a budget, £20 per month. This might seem a lot but I love John Frieda brilliant brunette which is £9.00 for the shampoo and conditioner! So, I only buy it every couple of months and use a cheaper alternative when I am not going out but still want clean hair. I also try not to wash my hair every day and have found it doesn't get as dry.
Instead of using body scrubs I have bought some exfoliating mits from Boots and I use this alongside my usual shower gel (I like the radox moitsurising one).
My OH travels regularly for work and he usually gets me a gift at the airport (perfume, chocolates etc) I have now pointed him in the direction of the make up counters with explicit instructions about what to buy (dior usually!). I always ask for make up for Christmas and birthdays.
I have very dry skin and swear by aqueous cream, I get it from boots (have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter) and it costs about £3 for a huge tub. It is very thick so I smother it on before bed (and wear old pjs because it goes everywhere) and then wash it off in the shower the next morning. It even sorts out the crocodile skin on my feet.
Be careful with suncream, it goes "off" after 1 year and isn't as protecting. I use mine all through winter as well on my hands and face. I have done for a couple of years and I swear it is protecting my skin from wrinkles.
 Some great tips there honey - thank you. i do te olkd suncreen on the back of my hands thing - as does my 12 yo daughter! (and you're another Dior fan I see!
)
My Hubs used to travel for work and I always sent him off with a list when he was going abroad.
He's got a trip to the states coming up in the new year and I've been umming and aaaahing whether to break my not buying anything rule in order to get some beauty bargains.
I'm thinking I'll just use it to stock up on my staples - but you just know those NY salesladies will talk him into another couple of bits and pieces as well. (With any luck!

 It's funny you should day that Luce, I've got the makings of a beauty hamper for my daughter for Christmas. It just needs a couple more bits and pieces to round it out.
I've been thinking of having a bit of a nose and eyeing up what freebies are on offer cos I glimpsed a bit of an advert the other day and it looked like No7 were giving away a cute little purse / cosmetics bag with their freebies and she could have that too.
Good thinking batman!

PS I love Benefit as well so you can add department stores to the places I dare not enter!

It's called Cetaphil.
It's widely available from pharmacies in the US but a bit trickier to get over here.
I usually get it offa ebay or order from Boots.
Tell them it's made by ?Galaderm?
I believe it was developed for burns victims and is super gentle yet totally wiped out my spots.
I've had rubbish skin since I was 13 but after using this for a month I could go out with just a bit of powder on.
Oh, and I stopped using any creams around my nose area apart from sunscreen.
Really helped my blocked pores and costs nowt!:hello: Cheers honey,
I've just joined up!
I've never really bought much Clinique. I can't quite believe I'm admitting this but I think some of the packaging puts me off. (The hospital green plastic type.)
If you asked me I'd say that the packaging doesn't matter that much as long as it's solid and doesn't fall apart - but I do seem to have a preference for brands that package in black and dark blue!
Can you tell us the name of the face wash as well chick? It's miles cheaper than my usual cleanser that I've just run out of.

I have the current freebie bag... Which is beautiful (I had a £5 voucher!) I am currently trying to use up some of my bags of cosmetics and have booked myself in with Benefit for a 'free' make-up lesson/make over the night of my christmas party! Free professional make over and I'm hoping to have some vouchers to treat myself!
But I am waiting for someone to come back to me about a £40 website test, so I might put £20 into debt and £20 into treat!Current debt - £16,300

I don't need any make up at all at the moment, but I just enjoy shopping at counters for it. The Bobbi Brown ladies in H of F must think I've died!
The Benefit girls are really fun...and the boys at MAC wear more slap than me!
