Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Oh Cat so sorry! Poor DD. I think I'd find it hard to tell her she shouldn't have done it to be honest. She's obviously been pushed to her limit. It's really bad that no one had her back at the school and sorted it out before it went that far.

It's a really long story Bob but I felt much better after I'd spoken to one of the senior leaders at school yesterday. I hate using the fact that I know him personally but it has helped. DD was hysterical that the police were going to be involved and that she would get arrested etc. The impression she gave me is that all of the adults were on the other girl's side in the argument. I had told her that whilst I understood her hitting this kid, she would need to accept any punishment that was given for it - most people have said well done on her for actually shutting the kid up. Anyway, the other girl says that all of this verbal abuse being given over social media is because her account has been hacked - this is the 3rd time I know of that she's used this excuse. The school have done a bit of digging and it turns out this other girl is doing the same to lots of other girls and they know that she is bad news but they can't prove it. So everyone involved was threatened with police involvement, in the hope that the social media abuse will stop. DD has taken this all very personally. My friend at the school assured me that dd is not being punished and they don't think that she has done anything particularly wrong in the whole thing.
Teenage girls are so b I t c h y and they hold grudges for years. I thought this would have blown over now but it seems to be getting worse. Fingers crossed that by Monday it's calmed down.

I've woken up this morning with a headache and a sore throat. I only had one glass of wine so unlikely to be a hangover and more likely to be run down. I'm just waiting for ds to get up and we're going to pop over to bestie's for coffee and a catch up. Then football. Then tutoring. Nothing school related today - I've put in an awful lot of hours the past fortnight...

It's at times like this I am very glad that I grew up during a time when the internet-whilst still around-wasn't the all encompassing thing it was. As a result of coming from a poor family I was a bit late to the internet party anyway, I had left High School and was in College before I even had a Myspace profile. I think my time at high school would have been a lot different-for the worse-if social media, smart phones and all that had been around.

I really think kids today have a lot to be getting on with and social media is making it worse.

I know I shouldn't say this, and I don't approve of violence or think it is a way to solve problems, but maybe the incident will say a clear message to this other girl that DD will fight back and maybe this will stop the problem.

I am very sorry you, DD and the family are going through this. I hope it all works out.

    Sending hugs to your DD.

I have posted before about teenage girls being so !!!!!y, as you know my DD is 14 and it seems to be getting worse. Often everyone falls out and then makes up but luckily there doesn't seem to be the intense bullying over social media as some schools have.

It sounds like your daughter had really had enough and this other girl sounds like an horrific bully - I cant help thinking she has got a taste of her own medicine. Fingers crossed it all calms down from now on.

Its interesting that the parents were straight to the school to complain - clearly they don't know what their daughter is up to. I monitor my daughters accounts just in case although to be honest she is quite open about what they all chat about - she has told me when she has received rude pictures and stuff.
I would be mortified if my daughter bullied people over social media.

Hope you can all have a fab weekend and hope DD does not worry too much about things.

Hope DD feels a bit better over the weekend cat. Nothing worse than bullies!

Thanks everyone for your kind words  DD was lots better yesterday and a bit more like her old self. She stuck with me for most of the morning and even came to ds football with me in the afternoon. She then went out with some of her friends and stayed with one overnight. It is so difficult in the age of social media. I went to school pre mobile phone era and it was hard enough then - never mind all the stuff that happens now. Thankfully dd and I have a good relationship (I think and hope) because she's very open with me about stuff - it was her that told me what had happened at school before anyone at school contacted her. And I know that the other girl was sending the abusive messages because dd was sitting next to me when they were being bombarded in on every social media platform you can imagine. Ah well - I have another senior school leader ringing me tomorrow afternoon and I hope that we'll be done and moving on by then.
Yesterday was busy - dh is definitely not on top form and he didn't get up in the morning. That meant I had to do all of the Saturday stuff... :(
Went to bestie's for a coffee and a natter - although dd took over most of the nattering to be honest with her fretting about school. Then home for a quick bite to eat before football. DS team lost 7-1 and he was very upset indeed about the whole thing. Then dropped dd at her friend's house on the way to tutoring (which I had to take ds with me for). Got home and dh had dragged himself out of bed not long after 3pm  Made dinner, got ds to do his share of the housework (he's after a new pair of football boots so wants to earn money to pay for them) then had a night in front of the telly with Dr Who :D and Casualty :(
This morning I've gotten up feeling a bit flat. I feel run down and tired - although my sore throat has gone. I don't know if I'm just worried about dh and dd and their current situations, or it's because I'm so busy at school, or I'm not well, but I don't feel like my usual self. I need to pull myself round though because exam season is about to start and my marking load this year is more than usual so I need to be on top form.
I'm going out to pick dd up in an hour and then I'm going to pop to Mr M as we need milk and I want to buy my mam a birthday cake. It's her birthday today and we're going over there. I know I could have made a cake but really baking is not my forte in life. And I couldn't have crocheted her anything as she can do her own. She taught me everything I know so I'd feel a bit lame trying to give her something handmade back that she taught me to do :o I'm also thinking I might buy one of their salad bar boxes because 1. I love them 2. They're healthy and 3. I'm a lazy so and so and it will save me a job later.
I am not doing any more housework today -dd hasn't done her share yet so I'm saving a load of stuff for her :p

Still waiting for dd to do her chores :undecided
We got home from mam's - she went out to see her friend and then rang me because she had slipped into a beck and was soaking from the knees down :undecided
Nice time at mam's apart from the kids not behaving. I think I might go on my own next time to give me and her a break from them. We can sit and have a proper catch up if that happens.
I did get what I planned in Mr M as well as a lot of chicken based YS stuff which I've started cooking up for dinner and lunches for next week. :money: My mam seemed to like her present, we shall see, but we all enjoyed a nice cupcake each.
Other than that I feel as though I've done very little today - I feel very tired and not bothered with anything at all. But blanket 2 is almost finished - just one more round of the border and I've already sewn the ends in.

    Yay! Blanket is finished :D
Other than that I feel blimming rubbish today. No motivation, foggy head, cold and miserable :( I hate days where I feel like this - but I suppose I just need to ride it through and survive.
Full teaching day, books that need marking...
My mam made a comment to me yesterday about me getting a cleaner, which I presume means that she thinks my house is a tip. This is why I don't have people over very often - I love my house as it is, even if it's shabby and needs updating. I don't have the time or inclination. It's messy but I do the basics and I keep it clean. :(

I expect she said it more out of concern for you, as you are so busy and have such a lot to do, especially as you seem to have to do pretty much all of it yourself :(
