Good luck with the diet Cat, I hope it goes well. I might have a look and see if our local library has a copy of the book :)

I swear that my body hates me. I'm ill again for the second weekend in a row - although I suspect this one may be sugar and general diet change. My digestive system is in rebellion and I am determined that I'm going to get through it - I need to be as healthy as I can and now I'm not a spring chicken any more it's playing on my mind a bit.
Not a nsd, I popped into town for mushrooms (yummy) as I had wanted. Also bought 2 punnets of raspberries for £1.50 so a low spend day. Saw bestie for a couple of hours (we watched Drop Dead Fred - it hasn't aged well) and went to do my tutoring session. I haven't felt particularly hungry but I think I'm being distracted by the other symptoms of detox etc.
Now just trying to motivate myself to go and clean the bathroom before my telly starts and while dh is still watching football. I've decided that I'm keeping the kids pocket money this week as the pair of them have done absolutely nothing to help me round the house. See how they like that.

Good luck with the fasting, it makes so much sense to look at the health benefits first. Sorry you have been unwell again though. Just no need!

  • And now I'm in a right grump with my ungrateful brat of a son. I'm fed up of the way that he speaks to me and his general bad attitude. I don't deserve it and now he gets the consequence of having his iPad taken away for the foreseeable... he is such hard work and I really feel like crying because I have such a lazy and selfish child.

Oh Cat. Do you think it's the school holidays affecting him? I know my DS has been bored. Then I feel guilty for not doing BEST DAY EVER stuff all the time like some people's social media would have you believe.....Hope tomorrow is better...

This is the thing I've noticed with kids now Bob - they can't be bored. In a 24/7 world of information, shopping, food and internet etc they literally don't know what to do when they can't access online. He's a terror anyway when he spends too long on his iPad (should just add that this is a hand-me-down from another family member that I used as a Christmas gift 2 years ago) he gets really angry. Last night he told me 'I don't want to hear another word from you so just shut up', and that I'm 'bottom of the list - the worst mother in the world'. It's safe to say though that he's struggling today without his phone or iPad. He reckons I don't do anything for him, ever, and he never gets anything from me. I think it is a bit of being out of routine, and a bit of being addicted to the digital age.
My mam played good cop for a while when we went round there and ds was the perfect little boy that I know he can be when he's with anyone except me. He's apologised and tidied his bedroom. The rule on no friends and no electronics stands for the rest of the day though.
Right, I need to hand my laptop over to dd to do her homework as she's left it a bit last minute. More later...
  • Too busy to even properly check in today. As well as all of the stuff I had to do over the holidays, I got into work early this morning to find another 11 items added to my 'to do' list by 8am. Unfortunately a lot of it is deadline for this week as well so I'm already struggling. I worked solidly (through break and lunch today) from 8 till half four, came home and did an hour before I took ds swimming then came home and did another hour.
I haven't even managed to hoover today  Just dish washing. DD will get the job of hoovering tomorrow. I also haven't done any knitting or crochet tonight which is more of a personal disaster, but it is after 10pm and I have another mad busy day at work tomorrow.
Chances of getting a book marked this week = 0
Sorry I don't have time to get on and check other diaries and my favourite threads. Just wanted to report that I'm still alive here.

I'm glad DS settled down with your Mum the other day. It must be hurtful what he said to you. You know what they say about hurting the one you love...

  • Hope all your hard work yesterday meant that today can be a little less stressful. Dunno how you find the time.

Don't you know Speky? Teachers only work 9-3 and we get 13 weeks off a year. :p Easy job. Apparently. :D
Busy again today and I worked until half past seven tonight to get everything done that I needed to today. The list is down to a couple of items now, but there will be at least 3 more coming tomorrow in terms of marking and planning. So far - next week is looking less stressful but we need to make it that far first. Head of department is also fairly stressed out at the minute, and as he's the one I'm looking to in order to keep me calm then that's less good. I feel less frazzled than yesterday but I am still very busy. Hoping for an hour of crochet later before bed. :D That is what I need to properly relax.
On the plus side, dd did the hoovering for me, and ds even made me a cup of tea this evening while I was marking. I've had a shower and am pretty much done. I've packed tomorrow's lunch, got the kids to sort out their stuff and that's it. 3 days till payday.
Thankfully, I've been too busy to spend money over the past couple of days as well, which is always good for the budget.
Hope that everyone else is doing ok.
