Minor crisis this morning when I went for my morning cuppa only to find that there was no milk left  So I will be out at 9am to rectify that asap and until then everyone else had better lie low... Not sure what time we're leaving - just when everyone is up and about. I've packed my clothes, as has dd but the boys aren't even started. I also have lots of other bits I need to do before we can head off. I'm out of medication and my prescription has been waiting for a fortnight so need to do that urgently, plus I want to go to the butchers for meat to take away with us. Also need to pop to L1dl for milk and I think I'll just get some of their lovely pastries in for breakfast. Need to fuel car and check tyres etc plus a quick hoover through and putting rubbish and recycling out before we go. Hopefully we'll get away by lunchtime.
I'm definitely looking forward to a bit of time away and I hope to get plenty of relaxing done. I'm not sure if or when I'll be able to get on here because it will depend on wifi availability and whether I can successfully post from my phone. Not giving up

Wifi at the lodge
Just a quick check in to say that we've arrived. It's gorgeous here and we're safe and settled. It's a bit hilly though and the walk back from the supermarket with shopping almost killed me!
Bit boring but I'm just planning an early night - dh is already snoring on the sofa...Not giving up

Have a lovely holiday CCL, I echo everyone else when I say you deserve it.
I'm so sorry to hear that people you are close to may not be in your life as much. My best friend lives very far away but the thing with good friends is even if you go a long time without seeing each other when you do meet up again it is like you only left the conversation a minute ago.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Time to relax and put the feet up with DH and reset the batteries. Very much deserved. Hope the weather stays onside for you too.0

Hi everyone
We are homeSorry I didn't ever get back on to report in - it was a combination of rubbish wifi connection and being generally too exhausted to want to bother posting in from my phone.
It was kind of a mixed week. Overall I really enjoyed it but I think that I'd built it up so much in my head that it was never going to quite meet my expectations.
The cabin was lovely - 2 upstairs bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Plus a log burner which I didn't think I would get to use but we had one very chilly night so I took the opportunity to make my own fire! Crieff is very hilly indeed and I certainly got myself a decent amount of exercise and some very sore muscles. We did lots of walking, a treasure hunt, quizzes plus the kids did some quad biking and a zip wire.
There were a couple of downers. One is that the kids argued and fought almost constantly - they're 8 and 12 now but I felt as though I was constantly having to speak to them. The other one was that dh took a bit of a downward turn mentally. He didn't get out of bed until very late in the day on the first day there and he didn't leave the cabin all day. Then on Wednesday and yesterday it was a real effort for him to do anything. Wednesday was all about the kids, and then yesterday he came into town with us for lunch but then just wanted to go back to the cabin. It's a shame because I think he would have really enjoyed it if he'd felt better - he loves Scotland.
I made the most of a bit of time for me plus one of the kids yesterday. After lunch I left ds with dh and dd and I went to the Famous Grouse distillery tour, which we really enjoyed (even though I don't drink Scotch). Then I left dd with dh and me and ds went for a long walk around the estate for a couple of hours. Overall I've enjoyed it though - definitely more good than bad. And whenever I go up to Scotland I decide that I would like to go back again really soon but then I never seem to. Will have to try and make more of an effort...
So we were up and away early this morning - I was ready to get home to be honest to get a break from the kidsGot home mid afternoon and I unpacked and then promptly fell asleep for a couple of hours. I've woken up feeling pretty poor physically - but if I'm going to get ill at least I'm at home now rather than being ill on holiday. I do feel quite sad that dh didn't enjoy himself a bit more.
So, the washing machine is on, the hoovering is done and I've had loads of kitty cuddles (I missed them way more than I thought). Now hopefully I can get some real relaxing done. I'm off to catch up on everything I've missed while we've been away. Not giving up

Tummy bug has well and truly taken hold. Anything I eat or drink is going straight through me
So I'm trying to stay hydrated but not attempting to eat anything at the moment. I slept quite a bit during the night but still shattered today so I'm on the sofa under a duvet doing a combination of sleep, tv watching, being on here and crochet. In a rather strange twist of events I am completely alone other than feline company. DD has gone over to my sister's house to do some homework with her cousin and the boys have gone to watch Sunderland lose at football again. It's sad to see the pair of them so demotivated about their football team, but I've practically had to force them to go out. DS says footy is boring at the moment and dh anxiety is in full flow at the moment. At least he's still speaking to me about it so that's a good sign - I haven't convinced him to go to the doctors as yet but we'll see how the next few days go. I don't know how to help him really - I just know that all of the things I do for me that help my mental health are not things that he will do for himself. They have at least gone to football, and I'm here with the kitties getting lots of their attention.
Gah! I feel rough - think I'm going to nap again. Not giving up
