  • Evening everyone :coffee:
So tired tonight. First day back at work is always a killer, but I was in the science exam this afternoon as well so even busier than I usually am at work, plus I now have 60 papers to mark asap. Made a start on them this evening, but then had a meeting with the Head. If this had happened a couple of months ago I'd be terrified of meeting with the Head, but not now. I actually asked for the meeting after watching a gang of Year 11 girls trying to intimidate a colleague then having a go at me when I tried to back her up. He's fabulous. And he asked me how the interview had gone, and he spoke to ds as well - just so much more human than the last Head, which means a lot to me.
He also said that I am so calm, and there is always a respectful atmosphere in my classroom :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I must be like a swan all graceful looking to the people passing by but madly flapping underneath just to stay afloat. He wants me to share my 'good practice' with others but I really don't know if I can do that... :o
So, even though I'm busy and tired, I'm feeling ok. It's amazing how much differently I feel knowing that I am valued at work. Got home quite late, and then had to go pretty much straight back out to take ds to his swimming lesson. Got home and dd had put some chicken nuggets and chips in to cook for her and ds, thus saving me a job. What an angel! I now feel a bit guilty for calling her an eyerolling teenager yesterday.
Home, hoovered, load of washing in, dishes done and lunches prepped for tomorrow. Reheated leftovers for me and dh dinner and am now just getting ready to go to bed. Shattered isn't the word tonight.

That's so good about your new head, and the feedback on your teaching. Well done Cat :)

Being appreciated can make all the difference. I'm so pleased that your new head has resulted in such a change to how you feel at work - they are the sort of people who should be in charge!

It's a good job that I do like the new Head because the past few days at work have been an absolute killer for me. I feel like I've been on a treadmill for the past 72 hours, and I'm exhausted, have never stopped but am no further forward at all.
Yesterday I had a full teaching day, coupled with a massive stint of exam marking followed by ds football training and another late night with interrupted sleep. Then today I've had an almost full teaching day, marking during my free and a 2 hour meeting after school. I still haven't finished all of my exam marking but the end is in sight as far as that is concerned. I also haven't even considered planning next week yet, and have had to succumb to an online shop with Mr T because I just can't find the time to get out with the family and sort that out. As I say I'm constantly busy, but not getting much done. Too many tight deadlines and not enough hours in the day for me. I desperately need an early night and a good night's sleep because I woke up with a headache this morning and it's been there all day. I actually can't believe I've only been back 3 days because it feels like a lifetime.
So tonight I got home, sorted dinner out, bins out, hoovered and have spent the past hour or so catching up on here. I'm planning and hoping for a very early night - ds has been nagging me for a while to go up.
  • I don't know how you do it CCL - hope you have a good night - weekend is nearly here!

Hope you have a good night's sleep CCL, perhaps the lack of word from this second job is a 'good' thing - it sounds like you're already spinning loads of plates!

Cat Look after yourself as much as you can. Did you ever get chance to try a multi vitamin in the end? Hope you sleep ok.

Evening all :coffee: I'm a bit  tonight. Got home from work to find that the house has been egged again (for the second time in a month). I obviously don't know who is doing it but I have suspicions about it and I wish they would go away and bother someone else. I already have enough to do without having to come home and clean my windows after work as well. I think it's the kids from the next street who don't get along with ds and I've had a go at them a couple of times. I suppose if I ignore it then it will just go away eventually. But I will keep a record of it just in case it escalates.
Another busy and non stop day, but I gave up and left work at 4pm today. Just needed an early finish so that I could get home and put my feet up. The carpet is desperate for hovering but I'm going to leave it for tonight, I just can't be bothered. Tonight is just for resting, trying not to stress and getting a bit of crochet done...
I am taking a multivitamin Bob - just tired because I'm busy and not sleeping enough I think. Plus anxiety is utterly exhausting at the best of times. I need to just clear my brain a bit. I can't believe it's only Day 4 and I'm this busy at work. Madness.

What a nasty trick! I was once egged whilst walking under a road bridge on my way to a date. I had to whip into McDonald's to try and sort my hair out. I may have looked very shiny :). But in all seriousness, maybe consider getting a cheap CCTV system to catch the little twerp in action.

Sorry, didn't mean to nag about the vitamins, just trying to think of anything that would make the non sleeping better..
