  • I hope the interview went well...nothing ventured nothing gained as they say

  • Hi everyone
Thanks all, for the good wishes. I'm absolutely exhausted now - the interview was an hour, and it was quite difficult I thought. Long questions that needed long answers. But, I felt better at the end of it than I had done at the end of the last interview I went to. I genuinely don't know how I got on but as time has gone on I've picked out more and more of the mistakes I made and started overlooking the more positive things. It's over now though and I can get back to life, remembering that I had nothing to lose by going (other than my self esteem :p).
It was a long day though - I left the house at half seven this morning and didn't get in until almost 8pm. That's quite a hike for a 1 hour interview...
I did treat myself a bit Bob - all of my food and drink is covered by expenses, so I got my lunch at Leon, which I absolutely adore and a big fat Mr C latte on the way home. Not too extravagant - the most extravagant thing I did all day was take the car to the train station and pay £13 for parking, rather than the £7 I would have paid on the bus fare and I saved myself at least another hour of travel time. And I will be able to claim that back as well.
I must have been running on adrenalin though because I can barely keep my eyes open now. I was exhausted by the time I got back on the train and was lucky not to doze over and wake up in Glasgow...
Not sure when I'll hear back but I'm definitely not holding my breath. It would be a lovely job to have but it would be a miracle if it were offered to me. So I'll just get on and see if I hear anything from them.
Anyway - it's after 9 and I'm off to my bed.
  • Hi CCL, just caught up - fingers crossed for a positive result with the interview and well done you for going :T

Well done you. For going , even though you were so nervous. For doing enough to get through it. And for coming home again :) You rock Cat!

  • Thanks so much for your kind words TCAL and Bob. :grouphug:
Up and about early this morning. I didn't sleep well last night for some reason - whether it was stress/anxiety related or just because I was overtired who knows. But I've been up and about since half past six, surrounded by all of the cats for some reason.
Another busy day ahead today, but infinitely less busy than yesterday. DS and I have a hair appointment at 9am this morning, which I didn't plan well with it being the week before payday. I've also arranged to do an extra tutoring session after that so that will bring in some much needed cash, which will just about cancel out the cost of the haircuts. After that then we're going to go and see bestie - it's been almost a fortnight since I've seen her and we're well overdue a catch up. Hoping for an almost spend neutral day - although I'm desperate for a new pencil case. I will see if I can find one for £1 or less at a bargain shop in town.
On top of that I have all the usual stuff to do; housework, cooking, meal planning and I have to get on and organise my crochet. I appear to have 7 things on the go at the moment instead of just doing one thing at a time and getting it finished. So I'm determined to complete some projects this holiday.
    I need a list - love a good list!

So pleased it went ok - I think it's natural to start focusing on the negatives but the reality is that you said yourself, you came out feeling better than before so I'm sure it went well :D
Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭
  • Time to do the s**t sandwich as my mam always calls it:

    Good stuff: :cheesy:
To-do list written and some items done
    Got hair cut
Got extra tutoring session and made more money than the haircuts cost
Had a brilliant time catching up with bestie and got a free feed out of it

    Not good stuff: :(
    Didn't do any school work
    Didn't hear back re interview
    Didn't get any crochet done
Have barely seen dd all day
Still a week until payday

    More good stuff :T
    About to start some crochet
    Good telly evening tonight
ds has been very well behaved all day
I don't have to get up early tomorrow morning for anything

Just disguise the rubbish in among all of the good stuff.
DS got bored waiting for me at the hairdressers so I sent him further up the street to BM to get me a cheap pencil case as I needed. I told him just to get the cheapest and not to worry about the design. He chose a gorgeous emoji one but it was £3.49 which I suspect wasn't the cheapest in the shop - but it is lovely and he's really proud that I trusted him to do it for me.
Since I got home I've done the bare minimum to keep the house part presentable (it will always be a mess though) - dishes, hoover, washing, recycling and I'm now just settling with telly and crochet. Still can't make a decision about which project to finish first though. It's a conflict of the one I want to do and the one I need to do...:o

  • Morning all :coffee:
Was so busy yesterday that I didn't get on at all. Catching up with a friend who lives so far away that I only get to see her during the hols (she's a teacher too). It's always a lovely day but quite tiring, and I went pretty much straight to bed last night after she'd gone home.
Didn't manage a nsd as we were out and about for most of the day but it was way less than I normally spend (out of necessity rather than choice I think) and I only bought essentials. So a lovely but long day all in all - I wish she lived a bit closer...
Today is about finally getting a bit of a rest. It's day 4 of the hols and I've never stopped - London all day Monday; appointments and tutoring Tuesday; out all day yesterday... I probably would have a pyjama day if I hadn't already arranged to see bestie later on this afternoon. Although I would imagine I can go to hers in my pyjamas if I want to :rotfl:
Not much else to report - back later...
  • Enjoy your day and I hope it's not disrupted too much with the weather.
