Something very strange has happened. I have finished for the evening by half past six. I have the worst feeling I've forgotten to do something but I don't know what. I've washed up, fed cats and kids, showered, made packed lunch etc. I'm all planned for tomorrow and my marking is almost up to date.
So I'm going to make an early start on some crafting. I'm starting to flap about the number of requests I have and the amount of time I don't have... Eek!
I heard a saying yesterday on a podcast that rings true here. It was about a guy's wife who starter her own business and she realised she was doing too much and didn't have enough time for the simple things like spending time with her kids and being a 'good' parent so she had to "do less in order to do more". Kinda stuck with me. Be careful not to overdo it.0 -
Are you recovered now CCL?
Glad to hear you were ahead of yourself last nightit's about time you got chance to catch up on things you like to do

Hi all
Thanks for asking Kirsty - the manflu is gone. I'm just left with the aches and pains and general tiredness. I have my thyroid scan tomorrow - a few hours out of work. I feel a bit guilty thinking this, but there's quite a large part of me that's hoping that there is an issue. Then it will mean that the tiredness etc can be fixed with medication. If the symptoms are due to stress and overdoing it then unfortunately that's not such a quick fix. It means that I will seriously have to look at what I can let go in order to be a better mother, wife and teacher.
I had my last counselling session through work today. The counsellor said he would be more than happy to see me again if I needed to refer back again. He said he likes me, and that I have a big heart - I just haven't quite learned how to be kind to myself. I know he's right... but I feel as though I'm always being lazy, even though I know I'm not. There's this stupid stuff whizzing round in my head all of the time.
Right, on that joyous note I'm going to get my stuff and settle in front of the telly for the night. Not giving up

Hi all
Just a quick check in as I'm absolutely exhausted like you wouldn't believe. Had my thyroid scan today, which was a 30 mile round trip during the day. I had to set cover work, go in for 2 lessons then go for the appointment, then back in for last lesson and a meeting. And I found out today that we're going to be undergoing a departmental review over the next fortnight which is a bit more stress than I can be bothered with at the moment.
Anyway, the scan went ok and the sonographer was lovely and very reassuring. She says that the left side of my thyroid is definitely swollen, but there's nothing that is worrying her. Lymph nodes are fine - so not cancer as I had started to panic about. Apparently the blood tests will give more detail when I go for the results. Until then just a waiting game... It could be any number of things. Hopefully just an underactive thyroid... It would explain a lot of my symptoms for sure. Thanks to everyone on here that nagged me to go and get myself checked out at the doctors.
I'm still desperately tired and needing more rest so I'm heading off to wind down for the evening. Not giving up

Thanks everyone.
Nothing new to report - just mad busy for the whole day at work. I am literally non stop from the minute I wake up until the minute I get home. I'm quite proud of myself today that I had enough foresight to get dinner oven ready so that I can just sit on my bum and do nothing much for the rest of the evening.
Work is busy, the kids behaviour is bad at the moment, and we had a book scrutiny today, which isn't great... It always feels as though we're expecting bad news at work - and with the department review coming up that makes me stressed right into half term.
I am still exhausted as well - just waiting for my blood tests, which are happening on Monday, and then another doctor's appointment... I feel like I'm saying the same old boring stuff every day - busy and tired...Not giving up

Evening all
I've not been on for a couple of days because I've just been too tired even for sitting and reading at the laptop. It's been work, crochet and bed. I'm reasonably busy with crochet - not so much that it's stressing me out but a lot of people have asked me to make things for Christmas for them and I want to do some handmade stuff for presents as well. So plenty busy enough, with loads of wool on the go and half done projects. Hoping to get 2 finished tonight but we'll see.
Everything hit the fan with ds football manager today. I've been hating him for ages but just quietly in the background but it all came to a head between all the dads today (except my dh and bestie's dh) Now don't really know what is going on - loads of them have spat their dummies and said that they aren't going back. I've still said nothing, but me and bestie have decided that our kids are only going back to play on that team if they get a new manager. The trouble is that the dad who is the manager won't take any criticism on board at all - no matter how constructive it is. He's not very good, and as a result the team aren't very good, and it's really frustrating all in all. I only ever wanted ds to do something he enjoys and it's not great that it's all gone to pot like this.
I had lunch with bestie as it was all kicking off online and then have been and done tutoring and a tiny top up shop (£6.45) - now in front of the telly in my nightie and feeling like I might fall asleep before I start crochet again. I have my blood tests on Monday so I really hope I get some answers soon. I've felt awful for ages now and I'm really fed up of it.Not giving up

Quick check in to report that I had my blood tests done today. Hoping for some answers over the next couple of weeks...
I've had a brighter day today than I've had in ages, but I am exhausted now. On single figure get ups for half term though :j Hope everyone is ok - I've not got much time to catch up at the moment and am feeling quite guilty. Not giving up
