  • Spent another £20.49 so far. Don't know if OH took his lunch or if he's buying today so if he has bought I'll need to add another £3 later, we shall see.
Total so far comes to £179.04 so that leaves £20.96 for the month.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • and another £1.86 in Tescos on 'bargains' I use the handheld scanner thingy so I can see how much I'm spending, what I needed cost 86p but it felt so wrong not getting more bits. I need to watch that, never noticed it before.

..... and parmesan which will last longer.....
When I open my parmesan I grate the whole lot and freeze it in an air-proof bag. You can then use just what you need directly from the freezer as it doesn't stick together - lasts even longer then :rotfl:

    Another NSD today :j
Hope you all have a great Wednesday

I've never actually done the market itself - must check it out when I'm next over that way!
It's good for out of date cake, huge blocks of cheese and random things like bulk bottles of HP sauce. It's variable though, you never know what there will be apart from the veg stall which is cheap but not the best quality and the 3 items for a fiver clothes stall. It starts around 8 and finishes around 1. Not as good for veg and meat as the St Philips flower market sunday market though.

Hahahahaha! They didn't have most of the things on my list! So I spent a whole £10.40, on (naturally fermented) soy sauce, oyster sauce, bulgur wheat & just a few packets of noodles - I can live with that on the monthly budget! I'll be back over there towards the end of next month, taking DS3 back to uni, so will call in then to see if they've re-stocked their spice shelves etc. I can pick up a few bits & bobs that we're in imminent danger of running out of at the county town market tomorrow; they're just in much smaller & more expensive packs that won't last us long.

Might manage to stay inside my self-imposed limits after all...!

$83.58 shop from two store. That should do us for a week. I sent DH and he came home with 9 snacks  not on the shopping list plus burritos he bought for breakfast. At least this time he did get a vegetable. :rotfl: Of course that veggie was on the list, and then he got so interested in snack food he forgot to get sugar. I seldom use sugar but when I run out I like to restock. I've made him a few pies in the last couple of weeks so no more pies for him! ;)

I also grate and freeze Parmesan. It save me time and I love having it ready to sprinkle on salads or food I've made. You only get the grater dirty once, not every time you need a bit.

    Signature updated.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.
