Hahahahaha! They didn't have most of the things on my list! So I spent a whole £10.40, on (naturally fermented) soy sauce, oyster sauce, bulgur wheat & just a few packets of noodles - I can live with that on the monthly budget! I'll be back over there towards the end of next month, taking DS3 back to uni, so will call in then to see if they've re-stocked their spice shelves etc. I can pick up a few bits & bobs that we're in imminent danger of running out of at the county town market tomorrow; they're just in much smaller & more expensive packs that won't last us long.
Might manage to stay inside my self-imposed limits after all...!Angie - GC Aug25: £292.26/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
$83.58 shop from two store. That should do us for a week. I sent DH and he came home with 9 snacks  not on the shopping list plus burritos he bought for breakfast. At least this time he did get a vegetable. :rotfl: Of course that veggie was on the list, and then he got so interested in snack food he forgot to get sugar. I seldom use sugar but when I run out I like to restock. I've made him a few pies in the last couple of weeks so no more pies for him!
I also grate and freeze Parmesan. It save me time and I love having it ready to sprinkle on salads or food I've made. You only get the grater dirty once, not every time you need a bit.
Signature updated.Overprepare, then go with the flow.
