We like french fries and I've been buying them from Al*i - Champion French Fries at 69p for 1kg.just_trying wrote: »....... In case anyone interested they have Albert bartlett oven chips for £1.19 a bag. I deep fried them and they are good, not the cheapest or healthiest option but quite a good deal, 900g bags.
It wasn't important - I was just being nosey interested :rotfl:Oh, I swear to god, I hate this phone!
Tinned tomatoes. I deleted and wrote it again, but it obviously changed again. And it did it even when I was trying to reply now! After I had worked out what I was trying to say...

Have returned from visiting my family. I felt I did just the right amount of food shopping when I was there as I used up nearly everything apart from about half the cheese I bought and two tins of soup. Have donated the cheese to my parents and have deducted £1.10 from the food budget for the soups I brought back to Wales with me.
OH bought a cucumber and Milk whilst I was away so I have given him back the £1.40 for that. We went for a Sunday Roast today (his treat) and he wanted a dessert so on the way home we stopped off at MrT and bought cheesecake slices for £2.50. I assumed he had run out of treats and would need to buy some more tomorrow, but when I asked him if he had any left he said Yes, so I feel the cheesecakes were unnecessary. Delicious but Unnecessary.
Have managed 4 NSDs this month so far. Am aiming for a minimum of 15 so a bit of hard work is needed.
Have £31.98 of the budget remaining. I think it is achievable. Will just have to be good.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

My second week is calculated and I've spent £85.65, that's £5.65 over budget for the week and £23.96 over month to date... my budget was a guesstimate although it's set at £320... I think I was probably spending double that... anyway I spent over £33 today at MrT so that should last, just top ups probably until Wednesday..Grocery Challenge - Aug 407.97/£320 - NSD 3/5

Ok so I know I'm going to exceed my annual budget but I don't know whether to increase it or just continue to add it to my current budget (and go over). What do you think?
February GC £26.68/£2500 -
It's entirely your choice but personally I would just keep the budget I started with, knowing I'm going to be over, but trying to keep it down as much as possible. I would find that more motivating.DanielleNic87 wrote: »Ok so I know I'm going to exceed my annual budget but I don't know whether to increase it or just continue to add it to my current budget (and go over). You should have a good idea where to set your budget for next year at least

i would leave the budget amount and see how far over I go.
I am working on getting our food cost down, too. Last month I spent US$696 and this month my goal is US $400. So far, I am at $270 with one week's worth to buy at the end of next week.
I have my menus for this week planned and 'set in stone'. The only thing I may have to buy is milk.0 -

I have only made my budget once since I started but use it to push myself. I am doing well this month and hoping for a second win!Overprepare, then go with the flow.
