It's working :) I'm sticking to a months menu plan based on a freezer and pantry audit and allotment produce and a spend so far of £12.50 for fruit and milk. Lots of fruit left, the months milk is frozen and the savings are stacking up nicely :T

£14.93 spent in the local co-op tonight mainly on beer and snacks for DH who is having a really tough time at work at the moment. Also a pizza for DS who had been fed a cake and 2 biscuits for his tea by DMIL:eek: and some garlic bread to go with pasta over the weekend.

I picked up some bread rolls for DH to have with some burgers we had in the fridge and some reduced small baguettes that will do DH and DS for sandwiches/with soup as we only need bread at a weekend.

This is my first food shop since Sunday :) We still have loads in and I need to squeeze some of the fridge stuff into the freezer. I do think I bought too much fresh stuff last Saturday which needs to be eaten or it will go to waste.

I now have £52 odd to last until the end of the month and we are on holiday for 1 week. I received £11 of Mr T vouchers which I will use for food this month.

I was tempted to buy some chocolate protein powder to try some new recipes but have used vanilla instead with a spoonful of raw cacoa powder and it has worked a treat :D

    Meal plan this weekend is:

Tonight - burgers and pizzas (all from fridge/freezer except DS pizza)

Saturday - B - cereal for DS and a choc protein shake for me, banana for DH L-soup and/or sarnie/ D-turkey meatballs, pasta, jar of sauce and garlic bread with watermelon for pud

Sunday - First breakfast - chocolate protein shake(me)/2nd breakfast (post long run) HM American pancakes, Greek yogurt and berries or with bacon and maple syrup(all of us) L -omelette and last salad bits in fridge fro the grown ups, sandwich for DS D - sausages, mash, spring greens, carrots, broccoli and gravy with sticky toffee pudding for desert with vanilla ice cream

Lots of fruit needs eating up for snacks and have plenty of houmous, cheese and nuts too.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Excellent Cappella!! Love this!! This challenge has cut my grocery/takeaway bill almost in half from last year's average.

XSpender you're ingenious! I love how you solved the chocolate protein powder dilemma, and saved money. :T
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

It's soo lovely to hear that you're all doing well atm with the challenge. Fingers xd for you all that you can reap the benefits by the end of the month :T :T

Spent £5.89 today on milk from L*dl, unsweetened yoghurt, sausages (DH's request) and some well-reduced fruit from MnS.

Does anyone know if you can freeze pomegranate seeds ?? Well, they were soo cheap that I thought I'd give it a try - I'll let you know the results next week :rotfl:

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend
