Well the best laid plans......I was just on my way to town to drop off Mr N's motorbike wheel to get a new tyre when my mum rang. She'd been on her way to visit a friend, by train, slipped over at the station and was ringing from A&E waiting to have her ankle x-rayed. To cut a long story short, she has broken a bone but doesn't need surgery or plaster, just a boot. My stepsister who fortunately lives in the town where mum was changing trains, has collected her and will see her home today. I said I'd go down tomorrow morning to play nurse and entertainer.

So all I have done today is drop off a tyre, get the washing in and spent time organising phone calls. Internet has chosen to be especially slow today as I was trying to google people. I'm not much of a phone person, so have lots of emails and postal addresses but few landline numbers.

Will rush around now sorting out what I need to take and what I can do now. Just thankful the car is back, and with air con.

Hope funeral goes well LW or as well as these things can.

Oooo it's quiet have you all melted? Lol

All good here, DD sports day was good, she enjoyed it, won the long jump (to be fair she's probably got the longest legs, lol) and her team won overall so she was made up. And they all had fun, no sulking which was wonderful haha.

I've been fighting with the kindle. DS wants to take it on holiday but given the recent in-app purchases I've banned him from my profile. But his minecraft world built up on mine doesn't show up on his. Doh. Anyway, I've managed to lock it all down so he can use my profile for just a few apps but internet access is blocked haha. So I think we have a solution.

I have my car back with not too much purse-damage. No idea where I got paying for retest from, duh.

Painting all done (for now) and skirting is getting fixed into place tomorrow and I'll call re the rest of the bits, but we're almost there.

Upstairs looks like bedlam, quilts piled on the floor as we don't want them on beds (!) and kids clothes everywhere while we sort out the case. It's only surface clutter.

Well, at least the house will stay tidy next week, but I might feel lonely... :(

Given I was asked, today, why I look 3 times hotter than everyone else...

Anyhow I have managed to muster enough oomph to get the outstanding ironing pile to nothing.

Now sat in the garden with a cool glass.

  • Evening all

Paid stuff done in office masquerading as an oven
    Daily stuff sort of done
Another coat of paint on inside of cupboards in new bedroom. How painted do the inside of cupboards need to be?

    Now pooped.

Never mind, one more day off paid stuff then off until next Friday, yay!

Minor crisis though as mum and dad coming on Friday and the place is a pit and no time to clean. Arg.

LW hope tomorrow goes OK x

    Any news from Piggers anyone?

Gws to your mum Narco x

Baby steps is the best way to get into flying Pink. I soo love going into a clean and tidy kitchen in the mornings as well :D

For those struggling with the heat can I make a couple of suggestions

Drink hot cups of tea or coffee - very cooling
Stay away from sugary drinks and food - they heat your blood
Wear loose, cotton clothes - ditch the undies at home ;)
Run cold water over both wrists for a few minutes and shake dry
Have cool, not cold, baths or showers
Wear your hair short or up - off your neck helps

    Morning ladies

Yesterday, Dizzyland was much cooler thanks to my aircon unit. What a difference to my mood and patience levels it made! Managed to do baking with Small, a bit more furniture building for their bedroom, sorted shoes and not lose my temper with the boys, so hurrah!

I have, however, broken the sit-on mower :( I went over a log that was hidden in the grass and now I think the machine blades are jammed down, which stops the thing starting, for safety reasons. DH says he thinks it's fixable, but we might need a new cutting deck. Pushing it back through the orchard and paddock nearly did me in...

Flylady hugs for Narc0's mum with her poorly ankle, to Piggers and Twinkle for horrid reflux, and anyone else needing them. My mellow mood has returned with the cool breeze ;)

Must do some ironing today as DH is getting low on work shirts and pants (no, I don't iron pants anymore - I've let go of this in a bid to free up a little time :rotfl:) and I'll have to scrub the caravan carpet as during the night one of the dogs yakked up the BBQ rib bones DH gave them. That was nice to discover first thing...

Goodness, I'm rambling - can you tell the boys are still in bed!?! Laters xxx
