Why am I sat in my office where it's so warm? I've got the patio door open even... Am daft :D

Skirting, windowsill and door frame under-coated and skirting painted again. Rest isn't dry yet. Wash done and out on line. DS wasn't happy with his covers apparently so they've been washed and I'll try sort him a cooler set up for tonight. Maybe just the duvet cover with nothing inside!

Glass man just been to double check measurements round cooker hood. Said he'll be back next week :T maybe it will all be finished this month!

Think I'll take the rest of the afternoon off - and chill a while.

I've also made DD some party invites so they can be taken tomorrow.

Well done on the weigh-in ionafan

    afternoon

Long drive done, and very little traffic.
    Cat zonked out
    Daily stuff done

Just see on internet a house in the area I want to live in, in a price zone I can sort of well (I kid myself) afford, now if I had just gone for a drive round while on my long drive, I could have gone and view as well.................

Happy Half Century to dancemum's DH.

    Lunch eaten
    Zzz decluttered ;)
2 phonecalls made and one email sent
DH returned from the railway in a good mood :) and has brought me a nice cup of tea
The sun has gone off the study-bedroom window now, so after tea I can get on with computer work.

Last week, when it was very quiet on this form, Pigpen asked if we had all been abducted by squirrels. One of this year's youngsters has just come and popped his head round the open patio door. If I don't reappear tomorrow, send search teams to look for me up the oak tree!

So my spare washing up bowl that is too big to fit in my sink currently has cool water and my feet in it! I have had sunscreen on them - tops of my feet always seem to catch - but they are hot and dry and feeling swollen and tight, so a nice cool soak should help...

I still need to bring the washing in although it probably smells of BBQ. Honestly who wants to fire up a massive gas contraption on the hottest day of the year? We had salad and wraps, too hot for anything else.

I managed to paint the windowsill again, looks nice and bright, and I think the skirting is dry too. Door frames tomorrow.

Car has failed MOT something to do with a suspension spring - not too costly I don't think. But will need to pay for retest.

Kitchen sorted after tea, DS helped DD write in her invitations so all the school ones are ready to go in the morning.

'Twas rather scorchio here today! Kiddies played in the conservatory after school in just their pants, lol. Blinds were closed and the fan was on, it was rather pleasant!

Mmm. Feet feel lovely now :) will sit here a little longer then might come back after I've brought everything in, lol

    Dinner of salad done
    More sorting

Bossy, I thought retests for MOT's were free of charge.

Still glued to sofa recovering, but have felt relatively normal today.

    Will post pictures eventually.

Well enough to drink some well chilled champagne this evening.

    1 load washing done.
    Greenhouse and baskets watered.
One flower bed sorted out as plants were falling all over the place, passion flower had grown down the wall (thought they were meant to climb UP) and got all tangled with everything else. More dead-heading, trimming and pruning.
    Retired from heat into kitchen:
Put away all final debris from holiday - half unpacked bags etc.
    Worktops cleared and wiped.
    wudupa
Floor of kitchen, hall, lounge diner and conservatory vacuumed.
    Kitchen mat washed.
Took old stuff out of 'Piglet's broom' flower arrangement and put in some new. The original cheese plant leaves, birds of paradise and ruscus leaves are still going strong. Decided on cool green ferns, pale yellow phygelius and alchemilla to add to it. Also did another small vase of alchemilla and nasturtiums.

Collected car; grand total £903  and that's with some discount but it has a new fuel pipe (old one corroded and leaking on drive), new suspension thingy (amazing how there are fewer potholes in the roads now), functioning air con (phew just the day for it), wiper blades as well as service and MOT. A bit of a nasty shock, but we've had the car 11 yrs since new and it hasn't caused any problems so hopefully that will be it till next year.

Went to A1di on the way home.

Now just got to label up some things to post tomorrow.
