Morning all
First day of the school, hols here
Thank you. For the lists,
I hope everyone is as well as can be. Hugs good wishes posi vibes sticks and spoons where wanted/needed.
Got to go round mils this morning and cut a shrub down. It's a particularly pungent thing but has reasonably pretty yellow flowers (don't know what it is-possibly St. John's wort) the neighbour's complain it smells like 'weed' and told us when the first moved in while mils was on hols the police came up the drive saying they could smell a drug den! I've dug all the other plants out that are overtaking the drive so this triffid will be the last thing to go as its right up the top near the garage. I think I have a day's weeding there but hope to catch up on my list kitchen later.
Have a good day all.SPC~12 ot 124

Wipe the work surfaces
Sweep and mop the floor
Sort out and wipe out the fridge
Wipe over the hob and oven door
Do a load of laundry
Put away the 2 baskets I washed on Friday :embarasse

OH is here 'trying' to be helpful, so far he has unscrewed the oil cap, also taking off the support piece, on the mower, and refilled it, oil all over the place as it was not going into the oil tank on the mower, cleaned the mess up, and now he has over filled it, I did ask before he started if he knew what he was doing, ...............
Then there was a large fly in the lounge, so he got the yellow racket zapper thingy, with his finger on the metal piece he then zapped his finger and the fly.............
I am now trying to find him something simple and safe to do!!!

Thanks Natty for the thread.
Today I'm clearing the sewing pile. The repairs are mainly dog toys plus his spare bed, then I have to sit and make pockets for my jeans. The ones fitted are too shallow for my phone to sit in when I'm walking, I can feel it lifting and I've nearly dropped it a good dozen times over the weekend as a result. I've raided my rag bag and found some suitable material.
I've done the dailies, dusted the livingroom (I didn't get around to it last week), and the second wash load is already in. I've decided to work on the dirtiest things first since we have good weather forecast all for the next couple of days. I'm just not looking forward to the temperatures.

Right, time to find something to watch while I sew, my glasses are on as I know it's going to be fiddly, have a drink & ice-cream to help cool me down already, and then get sewing. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Make sure you get all the root out if you want rid of it - these are very tenacious. We have two, and several times I've thought I'd killed one or other, only to have them spring back as large as life the following year.
Fwiw it does pong a bit, but I wouldn't have said it smelled particularly like "weed". :think:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

That's the chappie LW thank you, I've cut it back to within about six inches of the ground so Dh has somewhere to aim his spade at, it's in a crevice about 8inches wide on the boundary between neighbour's fence and mils concrete drive, on weeding the garden I've noticed there are 3 more of this plant -an established one in the opposite flower bed that is huge and two small ones just appearing in the back bed. I may try and dig the two small ones out but the big one can stay in the other bed for now. I think I have enough garden waste to fill her already full garden waste bin for the next three months now.
I did think if weed smelt that bad why would anyone want to try burning and inhaling it.SPC~12 ot 124

Blimey I'm glad I got sunscreen on us all this morning! Sports day was fun, but 90min on a field is a lot in this heat. School did well, though, all kids didn't do all activities, there was lots of rest, bottled water, and a number or gazebos were up for some well needed shade. Some parents took camping chairs. All they needed was a jug of pimms, lol. Glorious!
Been to Mr A (found a nice kettle!) and got a few supplies - car going for MOT so will be at home for a few days now.
Really need to sort DD party...Bossymoo

Morning all! (Ok- just realised its afternoon!!!)
A slow start today. The house is a tip (when is it not!!!!) and I just feel like we are scratching the surface.
Had a manic weekend which involved three bbqs, a trip to Birmingham for a CBeebies event, a nursery fete and ds1s musical theatre! Literally didn't stop so with flitting in and out the place didn't even get the dailies done!
This morning j have been for a run, done three loads of washing and put the dw on. Fed little miss and now she is sleeping. Going to have 10 more minutes tidying and then need to pick up ds1 from nursery (going via the shop to get leaving sweeties!!!)
Ds1 has an informal parents evening tonight so won't be home until tea time!!!
Tidy up family room
Hoover stairs
Wipe dining table
Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
