Ooo I have a radiator too!

Plumber said it's full of water and dry (on the outside) but can I please not put the heating on to test it as he's been working in a bathroom with no window for the last three days :rotfl: said he's been going home for showers at lunchtime, poor fella.

I will check it heats up though, but maybe in a day or two if it cools down. I know he'll come back if I need him to.

Skirting is also sorted :T nearly there!

Washed DS trainers today so they are in the airing cupboard, and I've tidied and vacced my bedroom.

Hope you all have a peaceful evening x

    Evening!

Well, I spent four hours of the first day of the holidays in work but it was productive!

Flying has been limited this week as end-of-term-itis struck but I am up for sorting and decluttering this place over the next couple of weeks so I can get people in to look at major bathroom / utility room creating :D

Am taking myself away tomorrow for a long weekend as a birthday present from me to me :D

Will start house stuff in earnest on Tuesday which is also when I have a meeting with mortgage person to sort finances for gutting and redoing pretty much all of the house!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine x

Iona - hope the foot is feeling better today x

Bearnard - thanks for the update; hope you are all ok x

Mrs MP - wow! congrats to DS on the great work x

I've been awake a lot during the night too Kaz - makes me so tired at about 3pm. You know, just when the kids are at full volume!

Bloomin' chickens snuck out of the orchard yesterday evening and straight across into Mrs NDN's flower border  hasty sweeping ensued but got caught in the act as she arrived earlier than expected. She laughed, luckily...

Actually, we (small people and I) have a day of border taming planned today. I'm about 1/4 of the way through it, so some way to go. A hot and sweaty day ahead :( I'm afraid I rolled my eyes at DH yesterday when he said he loves the idea of me being a country mum. Oh, and could I pluck and gut chickens, if he rang their necks?! I reminded him that being vegetarian was an easy choice for me!

Just about to dunk littlies in the bath. Tiny fell asleep at 5pm yesterday and has just woken up, so I'll be for it today as he is fully recharged. Must have worn him out in the park yesterday.

Ooh, nearly forgot - well done to your DS Mrs MP. That's some going!
  • Morning :)

Your DS sounds amazing Mrs MP, I hope they raise lots.

    My list:
    Steam kitchen floor
[STRIKE] Put away laundry!!!!! [/STRIKE] Finally! Even sorted outgrown clothes. Never putting it off as long again!
Hoover the stairs, landing and bedroom
    [STRIKE] Change the towels [/STRIKE]
    Hoover and wipe the floor
    [STRIKE] Wipe the splashbacks
    Clean out the plug holes
    Shine the mirrors
Clean the bath and shower [/STRIKE]

    Empty guest bedroom cupboard

Not much to add from todays list as I washed the kids bedding on Tuesday and their room and the guest room is pretty tidy. I do need to go through the junk cupboard in the guest room, but I think that will mostly be a job for the weekend. I'll empty it today so I can get straight on it when I get a chance. Need to do lots of hovering and steaming today as it seems to be the thing I drop when I run out of time (although I do hoover the living room every other day as that's where the kids play).

Morning, popped out straight after school for some milk and other bits, bought new undies for the small people and cakes for the school sale later.

The pta are also collecting books to make a library for the children to improve reading engagement - thankfully school agree that Biff, Chip and Kipper are not every child's cup of tea, and some of them want something more to their interests. So we'll see what we've grown out of...

Could do with having a general tidy mission today - although the spare room was sorted yesterday. Garage is rather cluttered and I'd like to reshuffle the dining room so I can move some bits out of the garage ready for painting - it's a big ask but I'm hoping to get it done next week while the littlies are away.

So, lots of organising to be done!

    Good Morning All (just!)

Sorry I've been MIA. RL has been a mare - hospital visits, grumpy tired small people and DH and I have been snappy with each other.

I've been doing the dailies but not much else. Had an influx of paid stuff, which is great as we really need the money, but it means the house looks a little, ahem, chaotic!

Spends have been so high this week, we have 5 big family birthdays in the space of a week, one of which is DDs, she is nearly 4 bless her:)

I promise I will be in more next week - hugs all round xx

GWS vibes to Narc0Mum - having to wear a boot for a busted ankle in this heat does not sound like a whole lot of fun!

Reflux-reducing vibes heading to the Bear Den too - I know from experience how horrid reflux is; must be really awful for one so young.

Funeral went well; P went on her final journey with lots of relatives and a very large contingent from the local CAMRA branch (that's where we know her from) in attendance. Sadly she was only 51.
It was a full-on Christian service, and I had to keep remembering to say "Amen" and not "So Mote It Be".
We made a polite appearance afterwards at W/Spoons, as requested, but didn't stay long - we could at least put hand on heart and say we had to get back for Millie.
I am totally and utterly wiped out today though; dealing with talking to people I didn't know, as well as people I did know but didn't recognise (I have mild prosopagnosia) does take it's toll.

So budge up on the Fly-Sofa, ladies, and let the Wolf have a spot of room.:o
