I managed to cancel my TV package but I was informed not to cancel the line rental and broadband as this would put an 'account ceased' block on my account and that new providers would not be able to switch with this in place. Is this true or are they pulling a fast one?
If you want to move broadband provider sign up with somebody else yourself. There is such a thing as Cessation Charge that applies primarily if you get cut off for not paying your bills but also if you don't want to sign up to a new provider, it's about £30 and covers the cost of physically disconnecting the broadband side of the line at the exchange.
If that's your aim (to move broadband and phone provider), leave Sky in place and sign up with somebody else. They'll deal with it, including cancelling your Sky broadband and/or line and move you over.0 -
Joined using MSE offer last year around this time, £35 for everything including sports movies HD, phone and broadband.
Issued cancellation a month ago, just agreed to re contract with 50% off tv, free broadband for a year. I've dropped sports and Sky go extra to save a bit and new monthly price is £45.40 which I don't think is too bad, hadn't seen notes before about free credit but never mind this will do for now!0 -
I cancelled, but just got offered Sky Q silver, Family Ent pack, U/L fibre Broadband and anytime call £58.50pm for 10 months, 12 month contract (£30 installation) my BT BB & phone is £49.99 so seems like a good deal0

I cancelled a few weeks ago and haven't actually been chased to come back at all, very surprised! All I have got was a letter asking if I want to upgrade to Sky Q, well considering I've just cancelled cos it's too much a month I hardly think I'm gonna add another £12 on am I *rolls eyes*0

All my sky services. TV,phone and broadband expire on the same date which is 5th December.
Could I get a deal on all of them like the 50% off ? Or will they not entertain that ?0 -
As tv needs more notice than the other services, give cancellation notice on the tv ,to show you mean it, then call about phone/bb a couple of weeks later, asking about adding a tv deal when the first is what you are willing to accept.0
