Sorry if this is a stupid question but, if you cancel sky do you still keep all the channels/recordings for the 30 day period after? Considering trying this, as phoned them for a different reason last night (phone line broken!) and while I was there asked about any deals on TV (I'm out of contract) and she said there was no deals on offer at all...

Yup -you can still watch recorded programmes and all subscribed channels during the notice period - also if you cancel and don't get an acceptable renewal offer until after cancellation takes effect then it can all be switched back on within hours.

you have to give 31 days' notice to cancel TV packages, 14 days' notice to cancel talk/broadband packages.

your services will be unaffected until that notice period is up.

apparently the only thing you will be unable to do (from the moment you give notice) is order any box office events, e.g. boxing or wrestling

You can get an acceptable offer in the cancellation period.

I was offered 50% off with £50 credit and do know some were offered 60% off with £100 credit, but as I am on the Original package that would have meant they were paying me to take the service, so my offer was the best to be expected.

So was I last year -but the previous year, I had to let it get switched off for a couple of days before they made me an offer I couldn't refuse:)

Last year they didn't even contact me after making one call when I wasn't home (husband asked them to ring any time after the day they called, but they didn't). I got my tv deal when calling to negotiate phone/bb.

Perhaps, they are making the process easier, nowadays, by making early offers.

Have just come off the phone from Sky, made some enquiries about adding on Sports ready for the football season to start. Offer wasn't that good so went through cancellations and formally gave notice to cancel. Currently have Variety at £32 and mutiroom at £12. Only offer showing online is Sports at £18 a moth so have just downloaded the app and have already been offered 50% TV for 12 months. Looking at T&Cs this won't include mutiroom. Anybody know whether I would still be able to add sports and get 50% off that as well as Variety? Also, would the Sports still be £18 or will this be more as a different offer? TIA

Can't see them "honoring" the £18 for Sport AND 50% off the whole bundle.......but who knows?? Try retentions.
I use chat early in the am for "negotiating" -then it doesn't cost me anything other than my time:)

My contract runs out soon. I am going to cancel, and then a few weeks later sign up as my partner online to get a new customer deal. Should this work?

Why go through the hassle of that when 50/60% off deals are common place for existing customers?
