similar situation here, full package about to jump from discounted rate of £85 up to £119. had an online chat, was offered 25% off TV for 9 months which I declined and asked to trigger cancellation of the TV package (31 days notice).

10mins later logged in to my mobile app and was presented with a 35% discount on TV package to stay.

Think I'll wait it out a bit longer, maybe trigger cancellation of broadband/talk in 2 weeks' time to see if they'll go down further.

Ridiculous we have to play these games to get an acceptable price... it's worse than insurance renewals!
  • Ive just logged into my sky and been offered 50% off sky tv for 12 months and a free 32" LG tv, going to hold out as i would like broadband and phone included in that! Still have a bit of time before im disconnected
If ive helped in any way please feel free to hit the "thanks" button!
It only takes a second and means so much ;)

Cancelled sky, had all sorts of offers from 25% upwards to 50% and £50 quid credit. Refused all offers and was switched off. 10 days later I'm back with sky my pkg 50% off for 12 months with £50..00 credit no contract. Free broadband (not fibre) and £10.00 of line rental both for 12 months but they're in 12 month contract. Best offers come once you show your serious and switch off. Will only be a few days before they contact you with offers to come back.

that's interesting. i've just cancelled the TV so far (31 days' notice) and will cancel broadband/phone (14 days' notice) shortly, so that both packages terminate at the same time.

they immediately (through the Sky Services app) offerd 35% off TV for a year.

I'm hoping that by cancelling broadband/phone in a couple of week's time, that'll give them a second kick up the backside and i get another offer... happy to wait this one out!

    Sky are rip off merchants

You all should just get Mobdro for all your sports (free streaming), and an android box for all your movies and tv shows (30 quid once).

Been following this and other similar posts for a while, here is my story.

Came out of contract with Sky at start of July
Called to cancel mid July, offered 25% off TV
Said it wasn't enough and went through with cancellation
2 weeks later received letter offering 35% off
3 weeks later, logged onto Mysky / Return to Sky and offered 50%
Had to call but got the deal, so £37.50 instead of £75 a month
Am happy with that as never wanted to leave anyway and certainly didn't want to lose all the saved content on our Sky+ box.

    Hello,

Apologies if this is in the wrong area. Can anyone tell me what happens if the account holder for Sky leaves the marital home due to divorce and moves to another property. Can he take his Sky contract with him to the new address or is the contract cancelled and a new one taken out at the new property. His ex-wife doesn't wish to take on the existing contract.

    Many thanks for your help.

I believe the account holder is responsible for paying, but if moving house would have to do a deal which would probably mean a new 12 month contract.
