I've received a full chargeback from Nationwide via debit card.

The only issue is that they have refunded me for my flight as well which I made clear I wasn't claiming for in the documentation I submitted.

Am going to call them again today to ask what I should do next as I'm sure it will be challenged for that amount at least.

Hopefully I'll be able to pay them again for the flights (which are confirmed as I have now checked-in online and have boarding passes) and then everything is sorted which would be a fantastic result.

Nice to hear Nationwide are finally getting their act together.

Interesting situation, let us know what they say. Sounds like a genuine mistake. Have seen a few where people have been refunded in full and not sure where that stand as regards to flights. I'd be pretty sure they can't cancel them, so honesty is the best policy and you can only tell them of the error. Ring fence the money just in case though.
  • We put your concerns about PayPal buyer protection claims to the company, and a spokesperson told us:
We can confirm that the purchase of holidays and flights from Lowcostholidays paid for with PayPal is covered under PayPal Buyer Protection. Customers with a valid claim have 180 days from the date of payment to open a dispute relating to the payment.

We are reviewing claims as they are received, working with the administrators as necessary, and have already started to reimburse claims. We expect to pay the remaining eligible claims very soon.

In the past couple of days we have also received via email a few stories of successful PayPal reclaims.

  • Received my Paypal refund. Hopefully everyone with Paypal will be sorted by weekend.
Good luck to everyone else, I know what you're going though and its awful.
    Nice one John .
  • great news, We started ours on the same date so would love to know how they are working this

Hi There the money isn't in my account as yet so still not in the clear but after the phone call yesterday it sounds as though I will get my money back.

Some people are saying its being dealt with in alphabetical order but I just think its luck of the draw when they get round to dealing with your claim due to the volume of chargebacks.

I hope you get sorted soon and if you've not been on your holiday as yet have a great time as we all deserve it with the stress of the last month or so

Great to hear that you have been confirmed for a refund.
I also started my claim on the 18th July with Barlcays. Ring them every few days to get several different stories and fob-offs and being told it is being dealt with and I will hear in a few days blah blah.
They say they did not receive my paperwork back until the 25th July!.

Could I ask when you sent in your documents and have you received written confirmation of the refund or just verbal?

    Regards
    Glen

Hi There started the claim on the 18/7/16 and sent the paperwork they asked for which was proof of hotel and transfers not paid for, proof of cost of new transfers and hotel, also all the booking info from lowcostholidays. all this was sent recorded delivery on the 23/8/16.
We were told verbally over the phone and also he spoke to another department to confirm this and that we would receive paperwork stating the refund would be within 2 weeks
    hope this helps
  • Hi everyone

Good to see refunds being processed for people. Has anyone heard from Halifax? I paid via debit card and launched by claim on 16th July and keep getting fobbed off by being told to wait 10 days every time I phone up. Starting to lose faith in them.
