Dear All
I have received confirmation by phone today that my Natwest Visa chargeback has been agreed.
I received a call from a guy at RBS at lunch time, i emailed him my original Low cost booking confirmation after the call. He returned email and confirmed my transfer and hotel refund would be keyed in today and funds will arrive in the next 2 days.
Thanks Gary.0 -
Aha! Located an answer to my question about Merchant Acquirer. Located at http://www.theukcardsassociation.org.uk/getting_started/card-payment-cycle.asp that has lots of other useful info regarding cards.0

We paid upfront in Feb via Visa are we far to late for the charge back ?:(0

makemerich12, no. See below. Call your bank ASAP and register a claim.
The time limits are set out in
the scheme rules. Generally
the card issuer must raise a
claim within 120 days of the
date on which delivery of the
goods or services was
expected.0 -
Has anyone had any luck with a VISA chargeback through Halifax? They told me I should hear something after 7-10 working days. Day 10 is tomorrow and I've heard nothing.0

Not at all - the number of days only begins from the date you became aware of the fact that there was a problem i.e 15th July when LCH went into administration. Get your chargeback claim in to your bank and you should have no problems getting it refunded.0 -
I booked flight and hotel the day before LCH went bust. Paid deposit of 600 by Amex and balance of further 600 by bank of Scotland Visa debit. Ironically paid in full so that I knew my flights would be paid nod secure! If I had booked the day before they would have been but timing has meant the flight with Etihad has not been paid. I can log on to the flight booking but eventually got an email from Etihad to say flight was confirmed but not ticketed as they had not been paid.
I called B of S on the Saturday and they told me they couldn't do anything for 15 days and to call back then. Then called BA Amex and after having to wait until the Monday I asked to lodge a section 75 claim. They have lodged a dispute and the girl said she has asked for section 75 but disputes will decide which is best way to proceed. They said they would send me forms to fill in and note of documents to send. None arrived yet but could take 10 working days.
I have not done anything else but wonder if I should be trying to claim in parallel with Bank of Scotland via chargeback, or if that will compromise my section 75 claim. Also I have already rebooked the hotel and would rebook flights but slightly concerned Amex find out through their investigations that they have been paid for and I'll end up with two flights. Etihad have been difficult to speak to and don't think my email would wash with them re refund if that happened. Meanwhile the cost of flights goes up every day!
Any advice?0 -
I got this email from RBS:
Please can you confirm if you were debited by Low Cost Holiday and if so on what date.
I can see on you your statement that you have been debited £xxxx by Hoteling.com. If this is the retailer that has debited you we will not be able to raise a chargeback, unless you have a dispute directly with Hoteling.com if this is the case please call 0800 161 5166.

It's been nearly two weeks since I contacted Barclaycard. Twice they have promised to send me out the forms I need to fill in and still they haven't arrived. Anyone else had any issues with Barclaycard?"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0
