In a similar situation, but my hotel have confirmed booking and that we would have to pay again. Been looking at alternatives as concerned booking is now not secure. Anyone booked through holiday lettings .co.uk? They are part of TripAscisor. Concerned about where to book now and confused about ATOL (does it cover accommodation only?), don't want the embarrassment of getting stung twice whilst attempting to book the same holiday. TIA!0

If I was you I would check the smallprint of your booking confirmation from LCH. It is likely to say that they used a third party to actually place the booking with the hotel. The third party will probably not have been paid by LCH and once they realise this they will contact the hotel and cancel the booking.
My small print says:
"Lowcostholidays Spain, S.L.U. is acting in its capacity as a retail agent for Lowcostbeds.com AG, who have made your booking with GTA for booking ref GTA..." and then it says a reference number.
GTA seems to be some kind of global travel booking system. Lowcostbeds.com AG is part of LCH. So there doesn't seem to be another agent involved here. So I'm probably in the situation that the hotel hasn't been paid and won't be paid, right?0 -

Chances of this happening twice seem unlikely. Like you say, holidaylettings is part of tripadvisor, and it is a UK Ltd company, so you should be fine.0 -

More than likely that is the case. But you definitely need to get the hotel to confirm if they have been paid for the booking or not. A quick Google of 'GTA bed bank' brings up GTA-Travel website. You may be able to contact them with your GTA reference and get them to check. That's what I did with Hotels4U.0 -

The issue isn't really whether the hotel has been paid, it is whether or not GTA has been/will be paid. They will be responsible for paying the hotel under their contract with the hotel, which is unlikely to be in advance. However, as GTA will probably not have been paid for the booking (nor for many other past and future bookings made with them by LCB), there is a good chance they will cancel the booking.
GTA is another (much larger) bedbank. Contact them (main office is in London), try calling 020-7716-2400 and ask to speak to someone in customer operations. They don't sell to the public, but should be able to tell you if they are going to cancel the booking or not.0 -

Rather than take a risk with another third party why not book with the hotel direct?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

We were away when LCH went bust. Paid deposit of £1000 on bank debit card in Feb and the balance in April of £500 on a different debit card (two different banks) this was for hotel and flights, we had to pay the hotel again on leaving which cost us £1200, how do we try and claim, do we contact both banks for the £1200 ? Any suggestions would be most grateful. Thanks.0

I have just phoned my hotel in fuerteventura they gave me a number to call to see how much it would be to rebook my hotel. My reservation isn't cancelled it's just not paid for. They said they would email me with price to book it through this number but they are prioritising bookings going soon. The phone number is 02037348269 I gave them the name of my hotel and the dates I am going. They then took my phone number and email. Dunno if this will be useful or not0
