On drafting my section 75 claim for LCH payment, I noted on my CC statement that when making the initial deposit of £400 to LCH by Credit Card they actually only took 10% and passed flight payment authority to Ryanair who transacted their flight payment against my card. Will this affect my Section 75 claim?

Your flight will have been paid for? Have you contacted ryanair?

  • Booked with low cost on 5th July.we are party of 7 .grandparents/grandkids etc.
Booked flight and hotel with low cost.
Saturday found out as expected our hotel is void.
Tried contacting BA customer service.told me I would need to contact travel agent.tried to explain more but was cut off!!
Monday afternoon managed to get through again.delighted as I was told not to worry everything is paid for.they sent out e tickets.
I had been in contact with the Spanish hotel reservation department who were very helpful.as my flights were confirmed I phoned hotel reservation and booked the rooms which they held for me.
Once again delighted as at least I could now look forward to the holiday .
WRONG!! Tried accessing my booking online only to find that this time I couldn't gain access.
Phoned BA helpline to see what problem was.couldn't give me any information after giving them flight route amount in party email address date of birth etc..told I would need to contact agent, even though I already told them I can't do that!!
Have emailed customer service .what else can I do .any ideas please.

how much in total have you paid to Lowcostholidays?

the ryanair flights are safe, it all depends how much you have paid to LCH

Lowcostholidays are mentioned on Nationwide simply rewards website !

Search on Yahoo " nationwide lowcostholidays" and the description seems to show Lowcostholidays was a rewards partner with Nationwide. I purchased my hotels with a Nationwide credit card. If they are partners would this give any more validity to my claim for compensation for a Hotel only booking. I think, but I am unable to verify, Lowcostholidays was on the rewards on 11 June 2016. Is there any way of finding out if this is correct.

  • Can anyone advise. I have just returned from holiday and our hotel for the stay was booked with low cost holidays. Now that I have returned home should I be expecting a bill from the hotel for my stay or can I assume I am safe now that I have returned home?

Due to travel second week of August. Hotel only booked with LCH. I emailed the hotel to ask if they still had my reservation and if everything is ok. They said my reservation is still valid and I have nothing to worry about. Should I just go on the holiday and see what happens?

I'm worried that the hotel will ask me to pay again once I'm there, by which point the credit card companies will have wriggled out of s.75 somehow. Any advice? Is the hotel wrong to say everything is fine?

The hotel is basically only saying that your booking is still confirmed with them. You need to ask them to confirm that they have been paid for the room, which is highly unlikely.

If I was you I would check the smallprint of your booking confirmation from LCH. It is likely to say that they used a third party to actually place the booking with the hotel. The third party will probably not have been paid by LCH and once they realise this they will contact the hotel and cancel the booking. This is what happened with me. The third party they used was Hotels4U, whom I contacted directly and they advised that they would be contacting the hotel to cancel. They haven't yet done this, but the hotel are expecting this to happen.

However, there are a very small number of people who have been advised that their hotels have already been paid, but the chances of this seem to be very slim.

My hotel have confirmed to me that if, as expected, they do not receive full payment before I arrive, I will have to pay again myself, but they have been very generous and are only charging me the same as I had agreed with LCH. So definitely ask them to confirm if they have been paid or not.
