That is b*llocks, you thing Currys would be expecting a load of Egg orders and vice-versa. Was so annoyed with this whole affair, such a massive con. Think we need tto all make a collective complaint if Martin would be so kind as to lead???

On a slightly related note got the laptop I wanted from PC World for £700, was £850 on Currys so didn't work out that bad for me, but missed out on the PS2 and ended up paying about £40 more. Still a sham.

Cheers buffers, looks like the big man is bailing me out here and sending me the £4, very pleased. Seems a couple of others are sending me cheques too and I could smash that £700 barrier by early next week!

Personally I will NEVER order anything from Currys ever again and I'll be cancelling my Egg card. I don't see the point in having a card which makes promises and then doesn't keep them.
Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!

    A variation on the theme.

I ordered a PDA costing £325 from Currys on the 30th with my Egg card under the terms of the offer, and no mention was made of it being out of stock -- I have received the PDA now and am happy with it.

However, I paid more for a better unit thinking I'd get around £75 back (£25 off >£300 and the 17.5% cashback). Seems I'll probably not get it though.

Currys didn't bother debiting my account until Wednesday 1st June. As a result, Egg tell me this order does not meet the T&C of the offer, even though I have email proof that the order was accepted by Currys on the 30th of May at 21:58:16.

If I don't get the cash I'll increase the credit limit, stooze the 5 months period and cancel the Egg card. Not happy with this AT ALL.

Maybe argue your case with Egg in writing, I've found them much more responsive this way then by phone or secure message.

How do you know you won't get the 12.5 % added later on??
I bought a washing machine and again currys did not debit the card on the 30th either. Only 5% is showing on my statement.
    Did you ring them?

I've just checked my Egg statement, and my account wasn't debited until 31 May... yet I placed my order on the 30 May at 00:04:39. Not quite sure how much earlier than 5 past midnight I'd have had to place my order for it to have been debited on the 30th... but with the 30th being a bank holiday, it's not unexpected that the payment didn't go through till the following day.

I think I'll write to Egg as suggested, to confirm whether or not I'll get my cashback. Ironically I ordered the same item in error on the 27th, not realising that the cashback offer was only valid on the 30th. So it got sent back and re-ordered. The debit for the first item came out on... 30 May!! :/

I've not got the 5% showing - but didn't the T&C say that the 5% would be added up to the 31 July?
