17.5% Cash Back @ Curry's

Just to add my experience- after doing the online postcode stock check thing and getting a confirmation email around midnight, I phoned customer services in the morning to confirm, and they said the order had been cancelled. Phoned them back an hour later to query it, and they said it hadn't been cancelled, just that stock hadn't been allocated. Tried again yesterday, and it sounded like it was still on (albeit without the 17.5% discount). Now i've just got a cancellation email through. Absolute farce, and i'm about to write to Egg to complain- more than anything else a well regarded brand like Egg needs to be aware that they shoudl take a look at who they work with, as i'm ready to cancel my card.0

Would be suprised if Egg do do anything, they'll just shift the blame to Curry's, who will probably shift the blame back to Egg!2p off is still 2p off!0

I cancelled my egg card months ago because they were annoying me so much. I got my dad to pay on his to get this offer. Haven't had a confirmation/cancellation email yet... Will keep you posted. Preparing letters of complaint in my head

Good point fatboy, shame really as I do trust Egg as a brand. And good luck busabus, be good to share your letter if you do end up writing it. I always get great ones in my head but never as good when i get round to writing them!0

Just wanted to add my own experience with the Egg/Currys 17.5% cashback "offer".
I placed 2 separate orders on Monday using the Currys link in the Egg promo e-mail. Everything was (surprisingly) in stock and the confirmation e-mails arrived ok.
I then received 2 e-mails this morning saying that the Egg payment was declined. Called Currys who confirmed that the order was cancelled and they told me to contact Egg. Called Egg who said that no attempt was made by Currys to request payment.
I'm now stuck between Egg and Currys, each blaming the other. I suspect that they could be using this to control demand under the offer.
Looks like Egg and Currys have lost another loyal customer.

Just agreeing with what as already been said previously.
My item was in stock 5 minutes before 12 and out of stock 1 minute after 12
Why bother posting offers and they are not going to honour them?0 -
Welcome to MSE. Would Martin be interested in taking this up? And contacting Egg/Currys? No doubt they would probably fob it off.2p off is still 2p off!0

One thing to watch out for on the Currys website.
Currys don't check the expiry date of the credit card stored from previous orders. If the "saved" card has expired they will just cancel the order several days later.
They must lose huge amounts of orders by just cancelling when any minor issue arrises.

I had an telephone automated check on my egg card this morning, but have now had an email to confirm delivery of the two items I ordered!:D (Currys however still haven't cancelled one of the excess orders, despite emails and calls to customer services yesterday (it sounded like a call centre not based in the UK - they had real problems with our accents)The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

We ordered a washing machine, tumble dryer and a chest freezer with the egg card. Surprise surprise we had a cancellation e-mail saying some of the items were out of stock - they probably look at the order and decide there is no profit in it. They don't even contact you and ask whether you want part of the order or to cancel completely. I rang currys to amend the order for something which is in stock but you have to put it through on a new order number therefore no cashback.0
