17.5% Cash Back @ Curry's

While Egg's general cashback scheme is abysmal, just 0.1% cashback (easily beatable see 'best cashback cards'), it does offer some very good one off cashbacks for its cardholders. This is one of them - very useful for anyone about to make a large electronics purchase.
However do be warned. You should only be using this if your card is debt free or you pay off in full each month. If you have 0% balance transfer debts sitting on the card, don't touch this with a bargepole, as otherwise the cost of whatever you spend on the card will be trapped in accruing interest, until you've paid all the 0% debt off (for more details see 'egg loophole' article)

Hi Andy
I have an Egg card and I see they are offering 5% off if you use it for Currys.
I can't see the 17.5%.Is this only on 30/05?Buy using a cashback website like linemypocket who are currently offering 2.5% via their link then putting in
a discount promotional code of about 10% and then getting the 5%from Egg
for using their card- is this how you reach the 17.5% off?0 -
You can't combine Egg with a referral site, you could combine it with a discount code like nhs5pct
OP anymore details?2p off is still 2p off!0 -
For some reason when I bought an item for £200 from Currys recently with my egg card, the purchase showed up on my rpoints statement as well. Must be something to do with the cookie not clearing out, so it might just be possible to logon to rpoints first, click onto the Currys link, then in the same browser window log onto egg and click through on their link. Of course this may go horribly wrong and you lose all the cashback but it seemed to work somehow for me.
Chances are the rpoints will be rejected (the cashback is already through on egg) but we'll see.0 -
So is it possible to get 17.5 % off currys with an egg card on bank holiday??
If so how?????
Thanks0 -
Yeah, anyone had the e-mail off Egg? I've not, will send them a secure message and keep you all updated, OP can you confirm?2p off is still 2p off!0

Response from Egg this afternoon:
I'm not sure it there are any plans to allow extra cash back on the 30th, but if there are the offer would be displayed on our website once the offer comes into effect.
If you use the following link this would take you to the area of our website you'd need to use should such an offer be applicable.
new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_63636--View_1257,00.html
If there's anything else you need help with let me know.
I'm thinking the offer doesn't exist, unless it is exclusive to certain customers, as Egg CS are usually pretty on the ball.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
Thanks fatboyonadiet, I have been watching this thread and was hoping it wouldn't be too good to be true!0
