Penelope_Penguin wrote: »OK, I really hoped that I wouldn't have to post this, but massive hints don't seem to be working. I know that we've been here before with people objecting to what's been put in the daily, but this is, after all, the OLD STYLE daily thread. It's where we can all come and chat, but each post is supposed to have some OS content.
I know that there are a lot of you involved in this campaign, and I really don't want to upset people, but can we please return the OS daily to chatting about our OS day. The OS daily thread really isn't the place to run a single issue campaign such as this.
There are plenty of other weight loss support threads, and I'm sure that you'd all be very welcome there.
Alternatively, a PM to one of the lovely BGs, and they might be able to suggest how you can have an OS wight loss support thread.
Best of luck with your individual plans, and hope to see you all continue posting here.

Well I was going to start with my OS day but that was before I got p'd off at being told to push off to some other thread or other with people I don't know rather than stay with some people I feel I'm met and like and chat with whilst supporting them....
......So I think I shall start with my first ever update of how my inch-loss loss campaign is going. As you may remember I'm not aiming for weight loss, but to improve the inch measurement around my waist by increasing exercise.
And for the first few days my "go for a walk every day" theory was working well but its all gone to pot since OH was at home working every day at the weekend, and I haven't managed to get out for a long walk since Friday. And as of yet, I haven't managed to persuade myself to do any situps - my excuse being the bedroom furniture is still in the middle of the bedroom. Of course, when I get the painting done today (where have we heard that one before on the OS DAILY thread) the furniture can go back in place. So no excuse, and as from tomorrow I can start my waist pulling in exercises.
....So now back to the OS Daily start that I was going to do before I read the thread.
Having decided that the computer sucks the life out of you I decided to start my day by finishing reading a book I have to post off. So 7am, first cup of coffee by me, in the chair reading my medieval who-dunnit where the handsome squire tries to help the pious Abbess of the local monastery find out who killed the local poacher in the mysterious woods.
....and 5 pages in, before I've even sipped my coffee, I'm ready about the altar based ritualised multi-rape of a nubile virgin!
Not quite the start of day I had expected. Read on though, and handsome squire sorted everything out.
So onto other OS daily things. Paint, replace furniture. Prepare plans for painting downstairs.
Thanks to mics_chick for reminding me about chicken I have. Now have to clean oven as well today  Thanks to scuzz about Mr T 5p petrol note - OH and I will stock up on cat food tomorrow I thinks and save money on his commuting cost. Ellie sorry to hear the sciatica is still playing up, hope you got some rest. Kyle so sorry to hear about your friend. She's so young! ((HUGS)) bargainrzl - so agree with you. I used to watch the river view rather than join the disco. View much better.
Anyway onto second cup of coffee, hopefully undisturbed by unexpected views.0 -
Morning all

Good morning everyone
Was up very bright and early today - so early that I was able to drop my car off at the garage at 7.30am to have its MOT. Walked back in the early morning sunshine - which has thankfully helped shift the awful headache I had when I woke up. I feel as though it should be about 10.30 now.
So far I have done the washing up, shredded everything that needs shredding, done my filing and am about to start cleaning the cooker. Living room is next.
I still have half a carrier bag full of apples so will be using some of them today. The apple pie I made on Sunday was delicious so I will make some more of that I think. Will need to get some more chicken out of the freezer for dinner - not sure what I will make with it yet though.
Once the car has *hopefully* passed its MOT I will have to pop into the office to check phone calls, e-mails, post, etc as boss is on holiday. After that it will be time to pick up DD and DS from school and that's pretty much how my day is panning out.
JackieO sorry you have had a bad few days. (((hugs))) Enjoy the pampering - you definitely deserve it.
Have a tremendous Tuesday one and all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good morning everyone
Well, I went with hubby golfing yesterday, as planned - hubby golfing, me just walking along...(wish i had a clue about mushrooms...there were loads as the golfcourse is cut out of a huge wood - but as i dont know what is what - i thought it best to leave them where they are:p )it was spitting with rain before we started  and by the 4th hole i swear someone had the hose pipes on us :rotfl: .....hubby gave up, but by the time we got back to the car we were dripping - literally :rotfl: .. still i guess it was a bit of extra exercise
Well yesterday evening we had home made sausages -done in the oven with carrots and onions and had it with new potatoes..nobby greens and cabbage mmmmm, whilst i was at it i made a batch of soup using the broccoli stalks, an onion, and other odds n sods...so we now have 4 portions frozen , and a casserole in the slowcooker - pork, carrots, onions , broth mix and just need to add some dried sage and a bit of stock and then thats 6 portions for the freezer..:T .. And i have just decided that im gonna create a chicken and ham pie for dinner this evening - now i have managed to track down lard in the German shops:rotfl:
AMIEE399 - believe it or not the vodka is as easy as it sounds... you simply place mars bars in the vodka...and the vodka will dissolve them , you can cut them up to speed it up and put several in to make it more chocolatey (sp). I first had this in a pub years ago....not sure he should have been making his own :rotfl:
want to get the tea towels in the WM in a moment, and i think thats about all i have to do today :T
Well i hope everyone has a good day-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Well I snipped some fresh silverbeet from the garden and made some wholemeal crepes & made up the filling, smothered it with white sauce & bunged it in the oven. Delicious.
I have to make DH pack up yet and do the dishes. Sigh.
Amie Not really. Maybe I should invent some.
JackieO Here is a little (wee for the scottish mob) poem. Chin up.
What Breast Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple Love
It cannot shatter Hope
It cannot corrode Faith
It cannot destroy Peace
It cannot kill Friendship
It cannot suppress Memories
It cannot silence Courage
It cannot invade the Soul
It cannot steal Eternal Life
It cannot conquer the Spirit
Well DD home so will go down and have a chat. ByeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning Guys!!
I agree with what PP has said and we come up with this problem every few months or so. Why not start your own thread titled Froggas weightloss challenge etc. Maybe the BG's would let you keep it in OS as long as OS is being used to loose weight
Anyway, I was up puking all last night and felt that bad I nearly got OH to phone an ambulance as I was in so much pain:rolleyes: ...but I was OK after a few hrs:o ...so am totally knackered.
WM has been on and clothes hung out to dry. DW is on as I type and toilet has been scrubbed. House generally clean and tidy. OH is in the kitchen ATM making some kind of cake
I had a lovely birthday and thanks again for all the well wishes. I was bought loads of lovely pressies and cards.
Not stopping long as I need a sleep before my hospital visit this afternoon.
Breakie: Fortisip Drink
Lunch: ???
Dinner: Sausage Cassarole and Baked Spuds
Hugs to all.

Morning all, late on here again, but I have all my housework done
, just waiting for wm to finish.
Amie, thanks for the pm yesterday, did you get mine back ? its only the 2nd one i have done and am not sure i am doing it right ! The baileys drink sounds great, have you got a recipe? I would love to have a go. Chi is good for shopping issn't it ? my dd goes to school there so quite often go shopping after.
The mars vodka also sounds great, will make some at the weekend, how long do you have to let it stand for ?
Its such a shame about Anita Roddick dying, I have worked for the Body Shop for years, and met her loads of times, she did so much good around the world, thousands of peoples lives have been touched by her, hugs to her family.
JackieO enjoy your pamper day, you deserve it xx
Cold roast beef mash peas and pickle for tea, DD is at dance class till 5 so have a great afternoon ahead of me, I am reading 'my best friends girl' at the moment, V V sad, have shed more than a tear or two.
Had a huge swarm of flies in the conservatory last night, this has happened for a few nights now, have cleaned it all out this morning, any natural suggestions for getting rid of the little b*****S would be appreciated.
Hugs to all
Sue

Hi
I don't think Pen Pen and Pen Pin are telling ANYONE to go away.
Just that the daily thread is for a daily chat about OS. I (though this is only my opinion) don't see any harm in having a thread on the OS board about weight loss. I do appreciate that the people on the OS board are a friendly lot, so keeping the weight loss thread on the OS board sounds good. But could we keep the daily to OS and our day. Remember the whole board is OS - not just the daily thread.
I really don't want to stir things up (again). (Does the size of font help "de-emphasise" (is that a word?) these comments?)
Anyway
Didn't sleep well last night. Was sat knitting at 3 o'clock in the morning!
Need to sort out dinner for tonight - I think it'll be sausages and ratatouille - I'll take DD down to the greengrocers and we'll see what sort of veg he has reduced.
Then I need to attack the ironing. Have a lovely day all. And good luck to all the Frogga's Challengers.
