OS Daily Tuesday 11th September

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

:hello: Hello all you lovely OS peeps :D

I hope it's OK to start the daily thread especially so early (or late seeing as I've not been to bed yet :o) but I wanted to keep my shoe firmly tucked up my derriere ready to give an encouraging kick if required  :rotfl:

I said after I got back from my db's I'd be finally throwing myself into OS properly so I'm starting by defrosting the chicken ready for the slow-cooker and it's sitting in the sink as I type...

So I'll be back later - much later - after I've had some kip ;) Gail xxx
You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an
"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs :p :rotfl:

    Morning All

Back at work, yet again. Feeling a little bit ill today. My throats playing up.

Visited Mr T yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find the 5p of a litre a petrol was back with a £50 spend. All of my wine vouchers were declined and I wasn't given my green points, so I marched off to customer services to have the situation rectified. Had to produce each bottle of wine to prove I'd bought it. Apparently the receipt is no longer enough. I was shocked to see there was hardly any British produce in the veggie section. I know we've had a rubbish summer, but surely some of those giant green house things must have produced veg?! Everything had an aeroplane slapped on it, apart from garden peas, broad beans and spinach. So I bought spinach, despite really fancying some mange tout.

Then I found my shampoo and conditioner wasn't being stocked there - I get the sunsilk for curly hair. Nothing - not one product in the line:mad:

Got an irrate phone call from my friend last night demanding to know where the flat is that I'm buying as she was driving round trying to find it. Told her then she started spouting off saying I probably wouldn't go through with the sale. I told her as long as the valuation and home buyers finds nothing wrong then I will. What is wrong with people? Why must they insist on poking their noses where it's not wanted?

Anyway, I managed £4.10 for the PIN pot yesterday - although the car tax has come in - £115:eek: That's gone up from last year.

    Hope everyone's ok

Morning Mics_chick, ellie2912 and everybody else :hello:

Woke up at 4:50am and haven't been able to get back to sleep, so here I am  Anyway I haven't been around for a while so thought I'd better show my face :D

Had a humungously busy weekend including going to the Last Night of the Proms, however I don't think there were any shots of me on the telly - I was on the second row but was directly in line with the conductor, and even my mum didn't spot me! I didn't have a particularly good time anyway, as there were a few people who upset me, so hopefully next year will be better. I enjoyed the rest of the Proms season, anyway - went to 42 concerts in total, which worked out at £4.40 a time on my £185 season ticket.

Yesterday evening I went on a riverboat cruise organised by work. I spent most of the evening up on deck as I absolutely love the views of London by night. Most of my colleagues spent the majority of their time in the disco, which is a waste of fabulous views if you ask me ;)

I'm working today but am so looking forward to this evening which will be my first night at home since... Bank Holiday Monday  Am home tomorrow evening too, thank goodness. Need to declutter my flat and phone some family and friends.

    Hugs to all

    Rzl xx

Edited to say: morning also to scuzz and AMIE :hello:

    Good morning everybody,

Been cleaning out the house today & doing other tedious jobs. Got a phone call from XDIL and she's bringing down DGS to us on Thursday. Picking him up on Sunday so 2 more sleeps. :D Off to visit my sister for the day tomorrow, although not looking forward to the 6 hrs travel to and fro. Got some frozen lentil lasagne leftover in the freezer for tomorrow but I've got no idea what I having tonight. :p We're having fruit cobbler for dessert though. Must get your priorities right.

Twink Will hold the photo session off until DGS arrives and I will take him & the veggie garden. Might as well have a proud granny moment too. :D

Amie They don't sell quorn over here. :( I tried it over in the UK and it was pretty good.

Well cuppa nearly drained so I better crack on. Hope you have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all,

Sorry you keep thinking about food Amie, it's a pain when you start obsessing. Now's the time for fellow Campaign Members to post helpful tips and encouragement.
    Ok, I'll go first:
When you find yourself thinking about food , try and imagine yourself in one years time. Do you want to be a slim , happy and contented Amie with her whole life ahead of her feeling she could do anything?
Or do you want to be 4 st heavier than you are now , not going out and livving life because of your weight issues?
It's a easy choice to make. So put those negative thought in the bin where they belong and get right on track. We can all do this , and we'll do it together , you'll see:T

Hope you all have a good day xx

Up early, as I have an 8.30 meeting at work (2 hours of the-dog-ate-my-homework committee). Then another meeting then I am off to Durham for a 3 day conference. So no cooking until Thursday pm! Hope the food provided is good. It will be nice meeting up with an old colleague from NZ who is also going.

Last night we were going to have cauliflower cheese but when I looked we only had skimmed milk which is hopeless for sauce. So then I thought of sausages but took them out too late and they weren't defrosted. I ended up making the grownups a bake with brown rice, spinach, courgettes, cheese, egg and a cheese and breadcrumb topping, served with roasted cherry tomatoes and bread. Yum and used up all sorts of things.

    Morning everyone.
    Hugs to all(())

Well lots to do again today, house needs a once over, windows need cleaning, having my hair cut and coloured at 10am, going bright red again, i prefer the colour after a few weeks when its settled down but for the next few weeks ill look like a bright red tomato!!!

This afternoon planning on sort dd clothes out again as dh came home with a huge bag of beautiful girls clothes from a chap at work, his wife used to throw them away as they didnt have anyone to pass them on to! They all look brand new and most are designer lables!! So dd old stuff will be cleared out and ebayed.

Tonight only have the boys for a few hours as crazychicks oh is taking them to the under 19`s England match at Derby ( thank you crazy and oh), they are really excited and it means as dh is on his fa training course that me and dd have a few hours on our own for a girly night!!

Right off the drag the tribe out of bed!!
    Have a good one !
