Hellllo again
Just thought id stop and have a cuppa, and catch up on all i have missed !!!
Hope everyone is having a good day, hugs to those of you not :grouphug: ..
Just a quick comment on Froggas weight loss campaign.-of which im a very appretiative memberhello frogga  ....I can appretiate both sides of the discussion..
But have to say that i feel comfiest tackling my weight in conjunction with this boards ethos - as my main concern is Old Styling...
so even when mentioning Froggas campaign - it is often with reference to the fact that we are doing this, whilst eating OS, cleaning OS -which i know is what is responsible for my weight loss - after all im not paying for a class, not paying through the nose for "special" products and not doing any form of "exercise"... im doing this by eating meals cooked from scratch - like i used to have when i was a kid, and by tackling the housework OS.... and with the assistance from all the great OSers, and i have greatly appretiated the support i have received thus far....thankyou one and all:D
Anyone wanting some moral support or just a chat in those moments of temptation..feel free to PM me
Right nuff said.... back to food :rotfl:
Have had a change of plan ...the pork i did in the slow cooker -with carrots, onions, dried soup mix(barley, peas etc)has had frozen mushrooms and some thickening , and now 2 portions are in the freezer, i have made 2 pies (each serving 2) one for the freezer and one for tonight...with pots and veggies...mmmm not bad for about £1.40 of pork :j
And the chicken and ham i was going to do is in the fridge defrosting and tommorrow will become a pasta bake
OOOOHH whilst i remember, A question on flour...i know one of you fountains of knowledge will be able to help;)
Out here flour in the German supermarkets is a nightmare... now i know 00 is pasta flour.... but does anyone know where i can find a list of what the other numbers are for...i think there is an 405 etc.... any help would be greaty appretiated:D
Well have a great afternoon everyone..... off to have a rummage through the rest of the site:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Afternoon all
Firstly - Catowen - I am ignoring you - but only cos you're winning to many prizes!!!!!(only joking - don't stop posting please!)
I've not been around much because of holidays etc but have not felt compelled to post much as I'm not in the "campaign" - The "daily" has changed to the point where I really don't seem to fit in and like Catowen feel ignored each and every time I post.
We have a seperate thread for meal plans, for grocery challenge etc so I do think the "weight loss campaign" chat and support should be moved to it's own thread or as the BG's have suggested, moved to another area of MSE.
My opinion and you're all entitled to it
On the OS front - been a busy bee this morning and cleaned the living room from top to bottom, re-arranged the furniture and even wiped the skirting boards over!!
Got a problem with fruit flies in the house at the moment - really not sure what to do about them, must be the time of year but there's got to be a way of getting rid of them.............answers on a post card please.
Soup tonight - made from Sundays left overs - had some last night and it was yummy, have a whole stock pot full so need to use it up quick. Will pop the BM on for some fresh bread to dunk in it before I go collect DD2 from school.
Hope you all have a lovely afternoon - the sun is shining and I intend to sit at the park with a book whilst DD2 plays after school."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Just popped in while the puppy is quiet! (heck what is she up to now?:rotfl:)
I wanted to post about the fact that i had made birthday cookies for OH to take into work instead of spending money buying everyone cream cakes, how I had frozen down some more runner beans from the garden and how I had not resisted temptation while out to celebrate OH's birthday last night and as a consequence had put that previously lost 2lb right back on again!opps!
But first I read through the thread as I haven't been on here for a couple of days and my heart sank - Here we go again!!! Sorry folks but my health can't take this angst and upset. Why oh why does this keep happening on what is otherwise such a lovely supportive board. (((hugs))) to you all but for now I will just look in and maybe contribute on the other threads if I can and check out GR's lovely recipes on her menuplan. Hope it all settles down soon.
For what it is worth I hope Froggas weightloss campaign can stay here on Old style if not on the daily, as most of us want to avoid the expense of weight watchers/slimming world ready meals and indeed do it the old style way. I have been laughed at for my rejection of these ready meals and the fact that I feel that artifical sweeteners are not good for my or others general health, it was lovely to have the support of other like minded folk.
Take care everyone! especially JackieO (((hugs)))

Hello all,
JackieO, your post brought tears to my eyes. I am in awe of your bravery
Hope your cat recovers asap anniestar
Hugs to anyone else who needs them
We had good news - OH was in a car accident a few years ago and has some recurring problems with his neck because of it - we got the cheque for compensation through today, so am consideraly richer than we were this morning. Am going to look at a new savings account in a min, as I haven't updated my savings since the interest rate hikes.
Have had a very productive day - 2 loads of washing, some of the ironing, changed the bed and went to Trago to pick up a curtain pole and a window trough - am going to do 2 level planting with daffs and tulips.
OH has gone fishing today - he's been wanting to do it for a while but got up this morning and decided that today was the day.
Currently doing Ebay listings (finally!!). Will finish the ironing off later.
Dinner: Beef stroganoff with chips - was supposed to be rice, but OH will have his way
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
