    https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax

I've had a read of those, but they mainly relate to how DVLA will handle your data.

It certainly doesn't say you can only access the VED and MOT status of vehicles you own/are the keeper of. Or am I missing something?

I see that the muppets have not included close up shots of the on site signage, which they will state no doubt forms a contract.

I wonder if that's because there is no mention of road fund license being in their terms and conditions on the signs!

A parking company, as with any individual I assume can report the location of a vehicle to the DVLA that they believe to be un-licensed, but what right do they have to impose a charge on its owner.

A scam if ever I saw one!

The DVLA actively encourage people to report vehicles on public roads, however no mention of private property:

    https://www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle

And they link to their checking page.

So what should I do about the fines?

Appeal to the invoices as per the newbies thread.

I'd also be inclined to put a car cover over your car, or at the very least take off the plates so that they can't issue you any further tickets.

We'd be very interested to see if the signs form a clear contract to pay £100 if the tax is out of date or a vehicle is SORNed. Would be astonished.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they feel they can issue tickets on the basis of 'no VED', then why stop there, the DVLA webpage also gives details of whether the car has a current MOT, and why not check tyre tread depths while they're at it!

The sign says 'vehicles must be taxed'. I've received the letter for the second ticket today also.
