Think we have volunteers sorted for the next couple of months so ferreting would be October?
It involved snuggling under the bed clothes or in a loved ones arms so sounded like a good activity. Although it also cited our love of growing things as being a cover for ferret activty - running our fingers through the potting compost is really the urge to dig.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Mothernerd sympathise my mother was same. Everyone who did lots for her got abuse and yet my older brother who never bothered with her had god like status. Chin up do something nice for yourself.
Thanks guys my sciatica feels better today but prowled around most of night. Thanks Bob for exercise ideas, have had it before but so different region pain is in. Looking forward to massage tomorrow even if it hurts a lot.
Review of interest rates.
Not sure to be honest my paperwork I keep in work. On a fixed rate mortgage probably fixed next 2/3 yrs not worth penalties shopping it.
No savings at present to gain any interest. Debts to be paid first
Reduced my knicker drawer. So scruffy and horrid ones. So needed attention don't worry I bought new ones last week in my food shop.
10 minutes clear out turned out to be an hour but my wardrobe is tidy, colour categorised and everything bit tight, moved into spare room.
Took dress back today but got lovely top for work and some food shopping just fruit and milk. Picked up cake and put it back woo hoo.
Met last week's date for coffee and seems to be growing on me.

Tis me for August!
We are going to visit my sister for a few days (only a 6-7 hour drive if we don't count stops!) And then home via mum's, I hope. All 3 of us are going, hence driving and not catching the train, as it would cost us triple  the reckoned fuel costs.
So, depending on when we come home, the August thread will be up before the 31st July - promise!

Reporting in a NSD for yesterday and today (but not on Friday) taking me up to 13 - I will get to 15 before 31st:jThis weekends challlenge is to:
1. Check your rates. Just saw someone elses post about the Santander Lite account so I have had a quick look and I think I will move to this. At the moment I am a normal 123 customer but as I don't have savings I don't benefit from the great interest rates but have to pay £5 per month. The Lite means it will only cost £1pm and I still get all my cash back - I get about £11 per month so the more money that stays in my account the better!!
I think I also have some savings accounts which have finished their special rate and reverted back to low rates so will check all those this week.
2. Reduce, recycle, repurpose. I reduced my cupboards quite a bit in June and am now only buying what we need which is helping greatly with seeing what actual food we have. Have used up the crinkly apples in an apple upside down cake tonight, served it with custard and it became tea!! It's too hot to cook for too long and we had a largeish lunch at 1pm so the family won't starve.
I have sorted another bag for charity which I will take with me tomorrow and also have the bag of stuff only fit for the rag man so need to drop those off as well as I know they can make a little money on those.
Everything in my home is repurposed, DH collects wood of any description and eventually it comes in handy. Some wood from an old wardrobe became the shelf in the shed where the baby turkeys lived and now they are older and can go on the floor we have removed the wood and stored for next year and a different piece became the barrier against the door. No need to spend money on wood when we have plenty.
3. Do just 10 minutes of something you have procrastinated over for too long. Whatever it is, set a timer and go for it! Not had a chance to do much this weekend, yesterday we took part in a procession so was out of the house all day and today I had a friend and her family round who I have not seen for about 3 years so we had a lazy 4 hours in the garden. Then this afternoon was family visiting etc.
DH had been putting off the garden but last night and this morning he has managed to mow the grass.
I need to strim the vegetable patch and actually plant some stuff out - I plan to do this one night this week
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.0 -
Evening all,
Wedding yesterday was fantastic and only spent 1/3 of my budget. Unfortunately, the associated costs - hairdresser, pre wedding meals out, dog sitter etc, have meant I have overspent and will have up use lots of my next month's debt money to pay it off - grrrrrr. Anyway tomorrow is payday and looking forward to the money shuffle snd a bit of debt clearing.
SFD today as I nursed a hangover and general tiredness from the festivities and craziness from the end of term.
I will tackle the weekend challenge over the next two days

Morning everyone,
Fmess - Glad it all went well over the weekend and you enjoyed yourself.
I'll try and work through the challenge this week coming, the weekends are usually a write off for me. Got a NSD on Friday thankfully and I intend to get quite a few this week. One last push!!!0 -
Morning All
Well I'm now down the caravan so not sure how many more NSDs I'll get but I had one Friday and one yesterday so I'm now up to 13 with 2 more to get to hit my target so I'm happy with that.
I've been having a play around with my CCs this morning which will hopefully make it cheaper for me and I should be able to pay it off quicker - how quick depends on when DH goes back to work!
Hope everyone has a good day

Hi All
Last week to go! Its another hot one here.
The flat rent was in the account this morning so I decided to do the first round of bank tidying. And although my goal for July was to hit £1,000 I am just into the right ball park by £1. Small successes and all that!
I am slightly gutted not to have heard back from the enquiry I told you about the other day. Its funny how people seem so keen one minute and the next you never hear from them again. I have sent one more chaser email but wont contact again. Have my pride and all that!
Had the funny moment today when I asked one of my oldest customers to connect on social media for the new brand...and discovered he has 49,000 followers and is kind of a big deal. Now feel I should doff my cap

Well done bob
Not a SFD today as it was payday and I've done my big shop for the month. Also bought dog food and an extra dog crate for when the building work takes place. I did however send about £300 to pay down the debt
I have attempted most parts of the weekend challenge - I have cleared out the garage and taken items to the tip. I also mowed the lawn (which I always put off) and cut back the over grown holly in the garden.
Hope you've all had a good day.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
