Spend day today BUT 95% of it was household shopping (food, and health stuff) and the only things that can be counted as personal spends were a bottle of pepsi max and some oven chips for when I come back from playing football and just want carbs!

I feel good about that, I got a lot for my money.

Ok, there was one personal spend. I bought a sealed pot from the local discount store, one of those Big tins with a £10 note design on it. It is huge! It is for all my christmas savings as part of the sealed pot challenge thread. I got excited because my brother bought me a sealed piggy bank back from vietnam, but it doesn't fit 50p or £1 coins, let alone £2 coins! So i didn't think it would inspire me to save big.

The weekend should be spend free, certainly tomorrow at least.

I have very little money left in my account and not sure when it will be replenished as my self employed work has dried up so it will be sell sell sell, and apply for jobs galore.

I will also try a few admin temp agencies for work.

Saw the Welsh football team lads on an open top bus tour through Cardiff. It was great, but my time in the crowd was spoilt by a drunk woman who left her young son alone whilst she went somewhere and just threw his scooter on the ground. also she said 'i don't know why i'm here, i'm from london, i support england'

When she left everyone started talking about her, and i felt sad because although she was not the most pleasant of people, her son was nearby and would have heard everything. I'm not saying this woman was but my mum was an alcoholic and I remember the way people would talk about her. So a bit of mixed emotions.

That's all to report for today.

Love the turkey chicks EE, I guess they are for the event that begins with C. Do you keep any other animals?

Some with be for C and some we will keep to breed from. We did the same about 5 years ago and built up a nice group but over the last few years the fox has been a few times and this year we lost 3 as they wandered off in the village to lay eggs and never came back. We let them free range completely but this year we are going to build huge pens with netting over the top to see if this helps (turkeys can actually fly really well)

We also have chickens for eggs - about 40, geese for eggs (they only lay for 3 months of the year) - 21 plus 3 goslings and we have 2 pigs who are going on a package holiday in late August.
Every few years we also get some lambs in and raise them until they also have a package holiday.
A few years ago we also raised some chickens for meat but it is quite difficult to find a supplier for these birds so I am on the hunt again as I fancy chicken to eat. (I only eat meat we rear having been veggie for 19 years)

It's all good fun and I love it!!!

As predicted today was a spend day - got DD's friend some earrings and also got them some snacks for this birthday sleepover.

While I was spending I also popped into Primark and got some plain black t-shirts, I noticed the one I had on for work was slightly faded and also had some stains on (like grease stains) and too be honest I have had it about 3 or 4 years so it's about time I had a few new tops for work.

I'm hoping this weekend will be NSD although my dog has a small gash on her front leg from where our foster dog ran into her (my dog stopped while foster dog was still running and you can't slow down a fat dog very well plus she runs with her mouth wide open) and caught her with one of her teeth. It looked ok this morning but tonight it is a little weepy and I don't think it will heal well as it is on her shoulder muscle so every time she walks it moves.
Will check in the morning and make a decision about a vet visit.

Was intending to let myself sleep as long as required today (2 early starts and poor sleep for several days), especially as I failed to sleep between 1 am and 4 am, but finding it was 12.45 was a shock. Dressed and brushed my teeth just before the joiner got here. Joiner had bought the ready undercoated architrave so only need to gloss it (+ wood filler over the nails and do something round the bottom at the side as he hacked off a lot of plaster that was twisting the frame).

Everything aching today (muscles I didn't know I still had) so phoned to see if mum wanted me to visit. No-one in (she complains about me not visiting her and Friday used to be my regular day - I know she doesn't have to go to the city hospital for another 7 weeks).

Have consulted one of mum's cousins and one of mine about a possible surprise birthday for mum on the bank holiday weekend, she was 80 last year and did not want to have a surprise party (I was given instructions). Trying to organise enough people (relatives plus a few from church) to make a party but not too many that she is overwhelmed or the tiny bungalow is swamped if weather is not good.

Need to book something on her calendar asap (without telling her precisely what) before all her partner's relations take over. Thought I could make mini- quiches/ pasties etc and freeze them to spread the work.

Have walked to mum's cousin's (round the corner), my cousin's (as far as big supermarket) and nearest SM to put light bulbs in the recycling. Bought cake for DS3 but he is paying and spent £1.44 on a steak (think it was rib eye but for 42p I don't care what it calls itself) and 3 ready meals from the ys shelf. I have claimed a SFD as only bought ys goodies. With the bolt, panel pins and medicine I have now spent £3.72/ £21.79 of my stretch budget. Big decision is whether to have the steak as a steak or try to curry it into 2 or 3 meals.

Today I am grateful for whoever (may be one of the local schools) had brightened one of the streets on my route with several of the ladybird and bee planters made from old tyres, for a new display in the planters near the market and for a lovely and much needed sleep.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

In work nice and early today and the long shift should mean I'll get a NSD :)

Although I'm in need of a few bits of clothes so I'll checkout some online sales and only buy if needed and a bargain. I saw a t-shirt for £3 on ASOS I liked.

Anyway, back to work. Have a nice weekend everyone.

    Good morning All

This weekend our mini challenge is to hit all our challenge goals by 1%, this is an unscientific 1% so dont worry. But by the end of the weekend I would like you to have

    - Ticked off a big chunk of activity. Be it walking a mile, running 5k, spending 2 hours gardening or going for a swim. Make it appropriate to your fitness levels and wellness (Calling,Apple & Mothernerd I am looking at you, be gentle but active.

    - Found at least 3 items in your home that you can sell. Think of every area. Recent ebay sales of mine have included kids toys, graphic novels, kids dress up costumes , adult trainers, & (almost) unwanted expensive commericial items.

    - Create your weekend menu with what you already have in. Post up what you are having. Any newly purchased food items must be accounted for here and judged by your turtle peers ;)

    - Take 1 step towards your perfect home vision. Whether that is taking a bin bag and sweeping all the junk you can see in one area (a hot spot like your coffee table) or taking the cutlery out giving the tray a wipe and throwing out 600 kids medicine spoons, find your mission and do it

Ok all set! Lets go! Usual check ins apply ;)

Partly there without even seeing this first!

Have done 35 mins on the exercise bike.

Cleared the arm on my side of the sofa which is sort of like my desk/coffee table :rotfl:

Menu is nice and simple, eating with OH's family at lunch today (parents are paying) so probably just sandwiches for tea. Definitely not crisps for me as I've given them up for a month. Tomorrow morning Scrambled eggs on toast, Sunday Roast for lunch (OH is paying) and probably something small like soup for tea.

Not very MSE i know, will not buy anything new food wise for the house this weekend to make up for it.

Off to look for things to sell.
