Got through quite a bit on my list
Have sorted stuff for eBay but not listed it. I'm knackered and have a headache so don't want to!
Just waiting for my guest and going to start the curry. Already had a bath and dyed my hair. Unfortunately I forgot to use the gloves so my nails look horrible. I will cut them and give myself a gel manicure later.
My new hard drive arrived today, got to love Amazon as only ordered yesterday lunch time! Will save everything to it and take into work tomorrow to store in case the house burns down :rotfl: will clear the smaller one and put in eBay bag.
Hope everyone has had a lovely day:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Feel I have failed the food part of the challenge. I have eaten what I had in but mostly grab and go hm rm and leftovers. This did allow me to bung something in the microwave half way through painting, hot in 4 minutes and not much longer to eat then back to painting. Took out the recycling and started on a new pile of washing up whilst it cooked. Have added several domestic bits in today whilst waiting for the bath to run, cleaned bathroom sink after washing/ scrubbing paint off my hands.
Activity - painting was done from 11 am until 3 pm. Lots of little bits but most of them were in the 6' to 9' region of the house so lots of going up and down the big ladders with a little limbo dancing in between (working in the vestibule and the bit at the bottom of the stairs between the front room and kitchen - both had scarcely room for the ladders alone so getting on and off them, and round or under when I needed a different paint can has involved ingenuity and dexterity).
Stopped at 3 pm because I needed stain stop (marks coming through the paint where DS3 was stacking pillows on the spare single bed before I found him a board to use). Had a bath and got dressed, scrubbed my feet with the nail brush to massage them and used the fresh ginger scent to try and perk me up. Meant to dash there and back (stain stop was £6.95 sorry slipped from grace and bought a chocolate bar for 60p. Did extra walking to the top end of the shopping street looking for something DS3 had requested.
Had gone out in only my dress and it poured down again. Found it refreshing at first but took shelter when it started bouncing off the pavement. Ankles and knees are killing me (back is background throbbing) but still trying to get back for round two of painting (cover stain stop 5 min job, 2nd coat behind the door at the bottom of the stairs plus 2 tiny bits missed on the ceiling). Front room window is okay but there are 6 tiny bits where a former curtain rail was fixed - may make the rest look dull. Window sill would benefit from another coat (more noticeable than the rest) but that means moving 3 large packs of underlay and 2 laminate (1 full, 1 with leftover bits from upstairs).
Also want to have a good clean/ clear up. very disappointed this morning as I cannot find the old spectacles I have been using for painting. I have 2 pairs and they may have been with the bits that didn't fit when I moved things into the new drawers.
Lots of other less urgent jobs - sand down the stair rail, stain and varnish, varnish or paint the new doors, clean two smudges (one on the ceiling one near the top of the wall by the light pull) from the bathroom before the ladders go away.
Selling - have 5 old phones which will go to envirophone (+ assorted chargers and bits, not necessarily for these phones). Not expecting to make much money but it is another half drawer of stuff I can live without, safely disposed of.
Perfect home vision. Hope all the painting will help. Once the flooring goes down tomorrow the front room can be put back in use. There are still bits to be painted - the actual new plaster over the dpc - edges are still drying out and at the other house the most problematical bit (in the downstairs toilet) was still giving out 'salts' a year after being done so will give it a couple more weeks. The dpc bit is dry but in the problem areas I think it needs to percolate through the cavity wall insulation to the higher bits.
More perfect home
1 All clothes hung up in the wardrobe last night
2 Found a coat hook in the bits on the kitchen table, think there are a couple more so these will be attached to newly hung doors for dressing gowns etc (bathroom door opens outwards and there is a space behind which could be utilised - good for drying lavender)
3 Asked a favour of the joiner when he had his super duper saw out. Four kitchen shelves cut in minutes. I have put three of them up (need to find another spare bracket) and started arranging my pulses (black and silver square tins with cork lids) and spices (white pottery jars with cork lids) on them. Spare cupboard space can then hold the tins. The new shelves look good and also hide a dodgy bit of wall (it's where the wires to the sockets come down and the washing machine water feed pipes are in the corner).
4 have been rounding up rubbish all day - painty rags beyond cleaning, bits of plastic that have been wrapped around brushes to keep them flexible between use, sweepings, cut broken edge off lino, offcut of plastic pipe plus lots of general rubbish. Black bin and blue (paper) bin nearly full. Any salvageable rags have been added to the wash load waiting to be set going.
5 Lots of cleaning. Two products used up, containers refilled (stardrops/ water and white vinegar/ water) and nearly used again. Front room radiator thoroughly cleaned and did not need painting (still finding speckles of plaster everywhere).
Will go and do more, in a minute.
Today I am grateful for shops with doorways and foyers, for being able to go straight to the shelf to find the product I needed and for what I have achieved. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Apologies still tagging along even though haven't posted last few days. Friday, Saturday managed Sfds. Today took grandson out and bought him a jellicat (teddy) his birthday this week. Spent £5 on fruit/ cheese/ veg on way home.
Had a hectic day yday, lots of errands to run for me and DD (builders merchants) before bday party. Snowtubing party, I struggled just standing around, at least stopped raining for hr. After all fed, went home cleaned house top to bottom, then dog walking friends dog. To sum it up in agony all night with hamstring obviously not ready for too much exercise yet.
I can join Ronaldo rolling around the floor at the moment. Took friend's dog only small walk today but did a hilly walk with dd this afternoon, after she fed me lunch.
My freezer is almost empty, no savoury food in it. Will last out till Tuesday / weds before big shop.

Saturday and Sunday were NSD! so i am very happy. Just 13 more to go...
Haven't ebayed anything as I haven't had time, but will look into it.
Was going to do an epic cycle but I may just watch the football instead.
Tomorrow will be a spend day as my OH needs shower gel. He wanted me to get it today but no way was I going to lose my NSD, and also I want to research the best value one and pick up the other things we need. I told him to use the bubble bath until then.
Been logging all my food and exercise on the app my fitness pal and I cannot recommend it enough. I have made so many better choices because of it.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Long dog walk yesterday and long run today with lots of activity in the house to clock up my steps.
Ticked off my three areas of mess and DH and I have chosen another 3 for next weekend; deep clean inside of conservatory, put up last few pictures and a mirror, put up hooks on back of doors.
Ate from stores, had a nice chat with DM who is just back from hols and met some more of our lovely new neighbours.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Evening All
Julie sounds a fun night out. Annoying for you about the takeaway. Its frustrating isnt it when one person makes a lot of effort to direct the family the right way & the other isnt entrirely on board. Have you considered showing him what £ value a takeaway per seek per year actually has? I.e no takeaways = a family holiday per year or a new sofa etc. Some people more visual than others.
Doingitanysay your meals sound delicious. You cant go wrong with a warming lentil soup can you. Your hallwall sounds wonderfully improved. Smug face at the ready
Clippy hope your head feels better soon. Well done on sorting your items to sell.
Mothernerd You havent failed at all, sounds like you used what you had. And after all that painting the chocolate is totally allowed. Must be lovely seeing your home looking better every day.
Calling Happy birthday to your grandson. Well done on eating down your supplies. Hope you feel better soon.
Florence I offen use hand gel for shower gel if we run out and I want to stretch things. P.S you wouldnt loose a NSD if your OH bought the gel...

Hi All
So just to round off my weekend. This afternoon friends popped around unexpectedly with 2 bags of clothing for DD. So thats lovely, I will tackle them during the course of the week. We sat out in the garden and had a cuppa whilst her girls played with DS on the trampoline. For dinner I cooked sweetcorn fritters to use up the corn on the cobs we BBQd yesterday. I served them on a bed of mixed leaves, sliced radish & tomato, with tomato salsa & the last of the home made coleslaw. It was very quick and yummy.
Have listed 1 more comic, a kids bike helmet, 2 bike inner tubes (unused) a hockey goalie helmet, & a CD player.
3 loads of washing line dried and brought in. Need to pack away.

Hi everyone!
Sorry not checked in for a few days again, don't know where the time has gone this weekend!
Activity wise, we managed a family walk yesterday which was nice to get out of the house and spend some time with the children away from their tablets and games consoles!
Have sold 5 items today, although the eBay item is still currently awaiting payment and the other 4 are being collected and paid for tomorrow, so fingers crossed they all go.
Food wise, we have a meal plan for pretty much the whole month and are not doing too badly at sticking to it.
DH took little ones out for a while today so gave me a chance to do a bit more decluttering and tidying.
I wasn't sure whether to share our news or not yet, but as it's going to impact our finances quite a bit and change some of our plans, thought I should explain. DH & I have decided to try for another baby. So this has made me more determined to pay off the cc ASAP so that we can start putting money aside for maternity leave. Having said that, today has been a spend day as a certain rugby store had a huge sale on and I couldn't resist a few baby bits to put away (I know it's early days to be buying things but just couldn't resist) plus some Xmas pressies for DS. Spent just over £30 altogether but this was for 8 items including a coat for DS reduced from £30 to £7. Will be tightening our belts now though and have set dd for cc payments to make sure it's cleared by November. This makes out budget quite tight so will be having a huge clear out to see what we can sell and looking for other ways to make a bit of extra cash.
ETA: DH did very well today and came home with a carrier bag full of food that he had been given from mil so we will put all that to good use!0 -
Painting round two. Covered up the stain stop. Behind the door had dried well and didn't need a second coat. Moved the underlay and sideboard to get the ladders near the window. had promised myself I would only do the little tabs where the curtain rail fixtures used to be - painted all the window frame and cleaned the window (nearly painted the pvc as well).
DS2 had pointed out a bit on top of one of the door frames so wood filler and painted that. Felt the 'wet' looking bits on the walls and did not feel damp so painted all the rest of the front room and vestibule. Tiny bit of new plaster paint left so I can touch up tomorrow.
Back up the ladder to do the missed ceiling bits and tried to draw a straight edge from the side of the door frame where I have had to finish the stair wall with a different off white. Moved ladder and touched up the top of the wall (join with ceiling).
Large empty paint tub outside and roller into soak. washing machine set off. Remembered something I bought several weeks (months?) ago. Rummaged in freezer and found Raspberry sorbet (healthier than ice cream) so hacked some out of the tub. bath then eating tub of sorbet with a very small spoon.
Today I am glad for getting things done (tidying, housework and paperwork tomorrow). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
