    How exciting welsh kitty

mothernerd I don't understand how you get all this done in one day? To me it sounds physically impossible, you must be like flash, moving faster than everyone else! Well done :)

Today should be a SFD, just work and visiting a friend but being as I drive to her, she provides the snacks :) Might see if there is a bit more marking available after work, it gets addictive!

    Have a good day all

    Hi all

Sorry I've been absent over the weekend, I find it hard to post from my phone.

I think I'm still on 4 NSDs - am going to have to really try hard if I want to get to 20 by the end of the month! I'll give it a go though.

Friday was a very low spend day - I just bought two pizzas and garlic bread from Ald1 to feed DS and his friends after school - we used to go to Wethersp00ns or the like before their youth club so at £2.40-ish this was a big saving. When the kids are at youth club we go to the pub around the corner where I would have a glass or two of wine and some houmous/pitta - I would easily spend £15/£20 on this and then usually bring the kids back for a snack, but this month I am doing Dry July so I had two soda waters (bought for me) and then went straight home with DS for my tea as I had the car parked outside. Paid £1.50 for DS youth club but they get tea there and also a craft to bring home (this time it was a concrete garden ornament decorated with gems and beads!) so it's well worth it.

On Saturday I paid £2.69 for a coffee and sausage bap in Wethersp00ns while DS was at drama class - now I'm working full time it's one of my only times to see my mum friends so it's worth it, and it's free refills. Then brought DS over for toast because he had a birthday party to go to so not worth going home. Birthday card and present were from stash at home so no spend there and he got his lunch provided.

HOWEVER - as Netto is closing down a friend and I went over to stock up in their 50% off sale - I spent £50 but managed to get enough tea/coffee/toiletries to last me a year, along with a stash of crisps, long life juice etc. Well worth a visit and it's come from the grocery budget which I've hardly touched this month due to shopping from the freezer/overflowing cupboards, so I don't mind that. Then spent the afternoon listing things on Music Magpie - over 100 CDs listed and only up to £25 :( Still it's money I wouldn't have had and it helps to declutter the house - although after the amount I've dropped at the charity shops/tip and the amount I've sold over the past few weeks I don't know how I have anything left!

A fairly low spend day yesterday as DS had his swimming lesson then we just came back for lunch, then he had a play date at the play centre - £4 entry and £1.40 for a tea so not too bad, and he got to see his friends from his old pre-school.

Going to have a NSD day as I'm at work and it's torrential rain so I won't be going out at lunchtime. Possibly going to the cinema tomorrow but will be 2-4-1 so not too expensive. Then going to aim for NSDs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Wish me luck!

    Hello and Gooood morning!

Wow, it seems everybody had a super productive weekend. Before I read the mini challenge a local hospice had put a flyer through the door for a charity collection they are doing in our area. This, plus reading Bob's mini challenge got me going.
The kids and I got 2 supersize bin bags full of baby toys, bedding, clothes etc together and put that out this morning. On top of that we took some bulkier things like the broken push chair and other toys to the dump.

I also got the shed finally tidied while the kids played in the garden (Sat morning in a 30 min rain break). Saturday night I tried my new toy the iron. Love it, never thought I say that because I despise ironing but this new one (paid 9 quid for £60 iron, yay) is fab. Also sorted the kids clothes and wardrobes and deep cleaned the BBQ.

I didn’t keep anything for selling from this lot. Some nice shoes that DD outgrew went to a colleague with a younger daughter and toys etc that would have been sellable went in the charity collection. I just wanted rid of things but I will continue the declutter over the next few months and find more.

On Sat I did my big shop and bought the rest of DS school uniform. I had money set aside for this in next months spending budget but took it out of this month’s and see if I can streeeetch. If yes, the surplus will go towards debt. Bought enough milk etc to hopefully achieve 5 SFDs in a row this week.

Sunday there was finally a break in the rain and we went for a walk in the Botanic Gardens and collected some more pictures with Oor Wullie on the Wullie trail.

    Will update my numbers later

    Good morning All

This weekend our mini challenge is to hit all our challenge goals by 1%, this is an unscientific 1% so dont worry. But by the end of the weekend I would like you to have

    - Ticked off a big chunk of activity. Be it walking a mile, running 5k, spending 2 hours gardening or going for a swim. Make it appropriate to your fitness levels and wellness (Calling,Apple & Mothernerd I am looking at you, be gentle but active. Tried to be active but really not worth the pain at the moment. Will wait until after next physio session (Friday) small walks daily thats all at mo,

    - Found at least 3 items in your home that you can sell. Think of every area. Recent ebay sales of mine have included kids toys, graphic novels, kids dress up costumes , adult trainers, & (almost) unwanted expensive commericial items. Hmm will try but find hardly made any cash last time on ebay on clothes.

    - Create your weekend menu with what you already have in. Post up what you are having. Any newly purchased food items must be accounted for here and judged by your turtle peers ;)To be honest had free leavers lunch in school for gs Friday, ate so much and wine was flowing - didn't need tea. Sat gs party leftovers and Jacket pot and beans at night, Sunday - dd made a spinach, chicken pie and bday cake pudding. Last night ate half M& S gammon meal deal - rest tonight.

    - Take 1 step towards your perfect home vision. Whether that is taking a bin bag and sweeping all the junk you can see in one area (a hot spot like your coffee table) or taking the cutlery out giving the tray a wipe and throwing out 600 kids medicine spoons, find your mission and do it. Haven't had a chance this weekend yet but under the sink is dreadful, can't even find my gas meter to read at moment. Will try later once wee gs has gone home. All my other cupboards are tidy and bare! All downstairs is 99% de cluttered.

    Bob

Today I have spent well bought some curtains, haven't had any on my landing window since I moved in 7 yrs ago, now I have finally got pole up, bought some online. Was going to buy off ebay but went direct to the company saved myself money in the process. As I bought 2 pairs(hall as well), only charged one lot of postage and gave me 10% discount for being new customer. So my hall and landing will be perfect then, well once Mothernerd comes over and paints the woodwork:rotfl:Cheap and cheerful ones and they are lined woo hoo.

Welsh Kitty woo go you. Good luck baby business. How many children do you have now?

lilian1977 sounds a great Netto haul, not one near me unfortunately.

Need petrol today as well. :(

Another post to make up for lack of posting over weekend.

    SFD 6/20 just totaled up.

Today won 5 pounds M/s voucher which will help in my food budgeting through surveys.

Rejoined 100 days challenge (on here) starts tomorrow and ends on my bday so aiming high at 1800 pounds. Highest ever tried to do so will be putting some pressure on myself.

    Monday moan over with!

Today was an allocated spend day. Felt very proud of myself as withdrew £20 and came back with change from £15. This includes a treat of 3 books for myself from a charity shop. They were all books on my to read list for a long time so I am happy. Also went into Home Bargains and despite some Colour Catchers trying to leap into my arms I bought only the 4 items on my list. Very proud about that.

OH has agreed to only buy Milk and Bread food wise for the remainder of the week. I have done an inventory of the cupboards, fridge and freezer. We have so much food. Including 8 tins of tuna fish when only i eat it and even then It's an infrequent eat as my OH complains too much about the smell.

Submitted an energy meter reading, currently £70+ in credit to Flow Energy but am keeping it like that so that we don't go in debt over winter. I will be looking into if changing suppliers is good at the end of the contract so I don't want to get into debt.

Have washed up, done two wash loads, hoovered, booked dentist appointment for tomorrow (another allocated spend day), meaning the only non 'LOOK FOR JOBS' part of my to do list is to just work out my expenses for the rest of the month. So i can make sure i have my 16 NSDs.

My side of the sofa arm is looking a bit untidy with my books though so may tidy that up.

Having a coffee and catch up on here, then about to make dinner, which is very unhealthy today. Have done a food plan for the week so there is no need for any other shopping to be done.

Am going to a Mindfulness meeting tonight, don't know what to expect, but will give anything a try.

    Wishing you all well.
