I can - and it's not to be one of nearly 3 million who, apparently, don't like democracy unless it suits them.

Apparently there are more votes from Vatican City (ineligible to vote) than members of their population!

Hehe - 35481 at present, does that include all the faithful waiting in St Peter's Square in case the Pope opens the window? ;)

And another doubtful one I suspect, have we really got 2721 scientists in the British Antarctic Territory - during winter?

There were over 16 million people who voted to remain, you also have EU nationals that were not able to vote that can complete this petition. Plus who ever else feels like signing it. Some quotes from the article posted on the page before

sharing a tweet which allegedly stated: “If you’re not British, sign this petition anyway pls and DM for postcode. We’re desperate #VoteRemain.”

Robert J F Barnes was among those to share a screenshot of the tweet, writing: “The petition with 2m votes is fraudulent.”

A screenshot of a message which was allegedly written by a hacker has also been sent to the Met Police after being shared on Twitter.

It stated: "I have hacked the UK petition website and am currently voting like crazy on this petition."

Meanwhile, a German journalist claims to have signed the petition to prove it can be manipulated.

Lorenz Hemicker ‏tweeted: “Are you British? Sure! Voting for a 2nd #Brexit-Referendum takes only 30 seconds. Even for a German journalist.”

I'd be surprised if there's not more than a few who've signed it more than once either.

Regarding the petition, obviously people feel strongly about the circumstances of the referendum and what should be classed as a majority. Why was this not addressed before the referendum as its fairly obvious the result was going to be close? I have a feeling the answer is nobody even contemplated that the outcome would be leave...

I'm a remainer but I will not be signing any kind of petition to have another go and getting (to us as a family) the 'right' result..the result was decided democratically and we will have to (in the words of many), suck it up and deal with it.

Unfortunately in trying to suck it up, deal with it, make it work, I am now being told I have no pride in my country! I do have pride, so do my children but they also want/need to be able to move freely across Europe and so are planning the way to do so...they are trying to make it work.

We have as a family passed the anger and depression stages, have moved onto the acceptance stage and as part of that, we are now at the making it work/deal with it stage.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

you have to give a postcode when signing, if there is an abnormally high number from a postcode then it will surely be highlighted as manipulated

they can further improve on the process by giving a door number, that way if there is more than about 5 signatures from each house its likely false

overall i think most the signatures will be true.
they also have a map showing how many from each council have signed up and when i last had a look there wasnt any single one that was an order of magnitude higher than the others (which i would expect if it was forigners or bots doing it)

That's true - but it doesn't have to be your postcode.
Just like email addresses can be made up, so can postcodes.

Unlikely to be anything to stop them. Never was a problem even before the EU was formed.

As in to work and live, not just to visit for a holiday and without the hassles of having to get work permits etc.

Yes it will still be possible but it will not be as easy as it is now and could actually curtail their careers and prospects hence the planning for all eventualities.
