I think part of the reason for the result is that people no longer beleive politicans at all. IN the campaign many remain supporters, particuarly the PM claimed that we could remain and control immigration which was patently unture. Centering the campaign on a lie made it easy for leave to dismiss every other 'fact' and 'forecast' as being 'well they would say that'.

I don't know how we can restore faith in our politicians, they have obviously become skilled marketeers because that seems to work better than Corbyn style paying lip service to honesty. And given international results it is clearly not just a UK problem.

I think it's was inequality, this was the poor voting who were nothing but squeezed since 2008 whilst the rich did nothing different but double their wealth.

You need to take the majority along with you, they failed.

They were two nations Tories and may have resided over the end of the United kingdom.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

The problem is it's half of the great British public you are congratulating

Actually, more like one third of the great British public.

One third voted leave, two thirds didn't.

The total vote was only 72% of the population (not 100%), that is the point that he is making.

People who chose not to vote aren't really in a position to complain.

Not even half way. 6.2% against $ and 5% against euro.

Ftse down 5%. Not 20-30% as project fear suggested.

So that's the first Project Fear lie debunked.

It was down 10% at 5am, more in fact. My IRESS (Aussie Srock Exchange) terminal had Sterling down 10.4% when I checked and down more like 12% from the intraday high.

Then the European Central Banks woke up.

Let's see where we are in a few months or a year. Economies don't change overnight. Let's see what investment decisions get made over the next year or so for example. No big Asian factories for you lot until you sort things out.

You quit without a policy or a plan. Let's see how you make it work.

It is actually down on the year (both the year to date and the calendar year), but further to that, I think one could argue that there has been a drag on the ftse caused by Brexit for some time, It isn't just about today's fall. But that said I think that it could have been a lot lower this morning, so my disappointment isn't as bad as I envisaged, but still plenty time for things to get worse of course.

looking at the stats over the last year

    the ft100 high was 6,338
    the low was 5,788
    currently 6,013

I think a reasonable person might consider that the price of oil, the situation in china, the problems of the S America, the elections in USA and brexit all may have affected the markets

I always said Labour was no longer the party of the working class, and that Labours detachment from reality was symptomatic of this curious liberal elite establishment getting to ruin everything

    You're fired

Why is it that no one who sponsored Leave online can spell, form a sentence grammatically correctly, or determine where they need to use their shift key?

Oh wait I know why. Now they will expect us to sort out the colossal mess they have dropped us in, while it slowly filters into their tiny minds that money doesn't appear in their bank accounts and goods in their shops by magic.
