They dont care about all the inconvenience that they cause,

Mcdonalds are as stupid as many retailers because they do not understand the sheer damage these parking scammers are doing to them.

Your choice is never to use them again, let's face it, they are a junk food provider and and not good for anyone.

It is very important that you contact your local press, McDONALDS do not like bad press

Here is one back in Sept 2015 in the Daily Mail

The manager was probably talking about the onsite CCTV used by McDonalds to cover the inside and outside of the building.

I will keep you all updated when I here from MET...
one quick question, I have asked for the charge to be revoked or they send me a popla code, what if they dont do anything and then contact me again after a few weeks, can they say popla time limit has run out.

They have an obligation to send you a POPLA code, if they do not, you issue a complaint to the BPA

The letter/response you have received, looks like some sort of template.
If i was on the receiving end of that I would not be taking it lying down.
As for receipts etc I doubt many people will keep hold of these, unless they are claiming expenses somewhere along the line.

As for evidence of where you've been, if you have a smart phone apple/android system you may be able to log into your respective account and view your location history.

They also state their is signage on site, does that signage have the correct planning permissions/advertising consent? I would investigate that aspect ( as it will/could give Mc donalds a bit of a headache)

As for a response to the letter, you need to be firm, and put your poin t across, no need for niceties.
possibly something along the lines of...

Dear Mc Donalds Franchise, i noe your recent letter, however it compltly fails to address my concerns and appears to be a template, you have stated that..
As a company, putting in place enforcement's within our car parks was only done after careful consideration. Primarily, some McDonald’s use parking measures to ensure there are spaces available for our customers vehicles, as well as to deter unwarranted or unreasonably prolonged parking. The regulations and numerous signs at the restaurant clearly state our policy and the relevant charges.
1: Whilst i understand that you have a need to keep the car park clear for customers, the usage of ANPR systems, which have several known flaws and inaccuracies can only demonstrate that the real motivation for this system is as revenue generation for your agents, MET parking, if you had genuine concerns about car parking then you would have installed a genuine car park management system, such as barriers.

    You have also stated that
We very much regret to hear that you received a parking charge as our main priority with this scheme is to clearly communicate the restrictions, which we do through clear warning signs around the car park and in our restaurant. We do not profit from the levy of parking charges.
I trust that you have the correct planning permissions /advertising consent in place for the signage at the particular Mc Donalds Franchise in question, as i am sure you are no doubt aware that any parking company signage not only requires separate planning consent, it also requires advertising consent, failure to have the relevant advertising consent is a criminal offence under regulation 30 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisement)(England) Regulations 2007.

You have also stated that you do not profit from the parking charges, this means that it is in Met parking's interest to issue as many parking charge notices as possible, in order to intimidate those who are less informed into paying up.

You then go on to state that
I have personally spoke with MET Parking Services Ltd in relation to your case and they assure me that they are unwilling to revoke it
Unfortunately you do not appear to have understood the issues at hand here, Met parking are your agents, you do not ask them to cancel, you tell them that they must cancel the ticket, Your internal affairs with Met parking are of no consequence or concern to myself
I am sure that you are also aware that you are jointly liable for the actions of your agent(s), in this case Met parking.

I have wasted enough of my time in dealing with your incompetence over this issue, and I am now telling you to cancel the charges with met parking, and issue a full apology, together with re assurances that this situation will never occur again, I am also formally telling you to instruct your agents, MET parking to cease processing, and using my personal details to communicate with myelf and to remove all of my personal details from their systems as per Section 10.1/10.3 of the Data protection act.

If you chose to allow your agents MET parking to pursue this matter then I am now giving you formal notice that I will be invoicing you at £19 per hour or part thereof in dealing with this.
However as a gesture of goodwill I will forgo any expenses ( including wasted time) that I have run up up to this Moment if you instruct your agents, Met parking to cancel this charge.
I look forward to your response on this issue confirming that the charge has been cancelled

    lots of love, hellp
