hellp ..... wait for MET to show their hand.

Who at McD did you complain to ? Was it the CEO.

Did you explain to McD the double dipping situation and how the parking company are attempting to extort money from their customers ?

Contacting your local newspaper is always a good idea, it will not be the first time McD has been in the press. It serves as a warning for potential McD customers not to visit or spend money with them

Thanks guys for all the help
Beamerguy I spoke to main mcdonalds customer services and they then forwarded my complaint to the chain store and then the manager of that store contacted me by phone and email and said nothing we can do in an email: Email from Mcdonalds below,

First and foremost please accept our apology for the time it has taken us to respond back to you.
As a company, putting in place enforcement's within our car parks was only done after careful consideration. Primarily, some McDonald’s use parking measures to ensure there are spaces available for our customers vehicles, as well as to deter unwarranted or unreasonably prolonged parking. The regulations and numerous signs at the restaurant clearly state our policy and the relevant charges.
At our Holyhead Road branch we have an extremely small car park opposite a premiership football ground which has approximately 25 parking bays making it one of the smallest and busiest in the region.
In an effort to make sure there are always parking spaces available for our customers, we have parking restrictions in place at this particular branch. Customers may park for one and a half hours which we feel is adequate for a meal, a rest break or a quick meeting. The restrictions were put in place as a reluctant last resort, because people were parking at the restaurant for many hours, or even all day and our customers couldn't always find a parking space. We have even had vehicles left on our car park for the entire weekend.
We do however realise and appreciate that we are a popular choice as a meeting location and do not want to discourage that. If for whatever reason your stay with us is expected to exceed the time limit in place we can upon prior request make an exception to your extended stay.
We very much regret to hear that you received a parking charge as our main priority with this scheme is to clearly communicate the restrictions, which we do through clear warning signs around the car park and in our restaurant. We do not profit from the levy of parking charges.
I have personally spoke with MET Parking Services Ltd in relation to your case and they assure me that they are unwilling to revoke it as they are satisfied that they have only one entry and one exit VRN captures on their system of your vehicle. As I also explained to you they had no report of faulty camera equipment from our site over this period.
I also stated that there is no evidence I can provide you to confirm that you made a visit on that day due to the time lapse on the CCTV cameras. I also cannot confirm that you had or had not been given a receipt for your order.
As a franchised company we have entered into a legal binding contract with MET Parking Services Ltd whom we have no contractual agreement with to override penalty charges that they issue. They do however have an appeal process in place if you feel that you have been unfairly charged.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact us and hope that this incident will sincerely not deter you from visiting us again.
    Yours sincerely

Pauline Blake has missed the point and is probably not aware of double dipping.
Whilst we can all appreciate that they need to protect their car park from abusers, they must be made aware that it is MET who are abusing their customers by attempting to extort money by using a system (ANPR) which is well known to produce fake information.

CCTV as she puts it has nothing to do with this and this clearly shows a complete lack of understanding of the ANPR system

Go over Pauline Blakes head directly to the CEO and if McD think they are right, get them to obtain the ANPR logs for that day.
They must act in a responsible manner if they are to employ cowboys

The one thing the Mcdonalds manager did say to me over the phone is just exhaust all avenues with the parking company and you should be fine

Again shows how little they know.

Did you tell him you'll invoice him for your time spent "exhausting all avenues"? ;)

If Met are convinced that you are a liar, let them try to prove it in court. When they fail, hit them with a counter claim.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Do you have bank statements that show you made 2 purchases at different times?

They must have CCTV inside the store also that could be looked at
