£20 for 24 months of broadband, what a mega deal that is. I assume it's a typo and £20 pm?

I would try a cashback site like Quidco or top cashback for some money or broadband comparison sites as they sometimes have better deals than going direct.

You will have to do a full postcode check to see what is available at your address. I was with Vodafone non fibre as it's got landline with it but moved to non copper a few months ago and kept landline.

There is a broadband checker on MSE , have you tried it?

Sorry should of said that most suppliers routers are rubbish and if you keep your old BT/ee router you maybe able to piggy back sky router and use EE/BT for WiFi but you will need to check.

MSE website said best price was £19 a month for Sky Full Fibre (which I cant get yet) - so I dont know why it even suggests a Full Fibre package, as I guess it wouldnt work yet ?

Sky actually offered me broadband as part of a new contract for £18, so I will go back and double check what broadband that was based on but with expectation it would rise next April.

Thats a great tip about possibly piggy backing to my BT router for wifi , if I need to.

Not been with BT for donkeys years but I've recently returned to Sky BB from VM. The Sky Max Hub SR213, which is what you'll possibly get, doesn't have great wifi, this is true (you might get the SR203 though which is better). But given the current difference in price between BT & Sky I would spend some of that potential £450+ savings on at least a double pack of a decent mesh system and disable the ISPs wifi entirely. I'm a fan of the TP-Link Deco's but there's other options.

You get to have access to great adaptable wifi that can be expanded or moved to suit and it's yours to keep. You can then change ISPs at the end of term without stressing about whether you'll get a decent deal or not.

It's not difficult to be honest, and buying your own rather than paying Sky say for their WiFi max addon where they only loan you very average wifi extenders, makes much more sense to my mind.

No. You need to subscribe to the Discovery+ plan that includes TNT Sports. TNT Sports is the streaming home on discovery+ in the UK, and the app is available on Fire TV/Firestick.bt+2

Important distinction

• A basic Discovery+ subscription does not automatically include TNT Sports.get.discoveryplus+1
• You need the TNT Sports-bearing tier, often described as Discovery+ Premium or a TNT Sports bundle depending on provider.rxtvinfo+1
• Fire TV is listed among supported devices for discovery+ access.play.google+1

In practice

If you buy the right discovery+ plan in the UK, you can watch TNT Sports on a Firestick. If you only buy the standard entertainment/discovery plan, you won’t get TNT Sports.

Hi @flyBobfly - I think your information is out of date.

TNT Sports used to be available via Discovery+, but since 26 March 2026 things changed and TNT Sports is available via HBO Max instead.

I spoke to Retentions today as I am approaching the end of my Sky Q contract. Online the price was due to increase to £103.50 although as a “VIP customer etc etc” I could get it for £93.50!

My current price is £61.50 comprising -

Signature -  £27.50.

Sports - £14.00.

Sports HD - £2.00.

Sky HD  - £4.00.

Cinema - £14.00.

We don’t use Cinema so I asked to remove it. The pricing offered was £58.50 a month comprising -

Signature £42.50, offered  £28.50.

Sports £36.00, offered £23.00.

Sports HD £6.00, offered £2.00.

Sky HD £9.00, offered £5.00.

Any thoughts on this please? I have asked for the contract to be cancelled and the person I spoke to said it is likely I will be contacted to discuss further.

So you knock off a £14 Cinema subscription and they drop the price £3? Charming.

Personally, I would be looking for £40-£50 here. Signature £24, sports £20, Sports HD £2 and Sky HD £4 would get you to £50 and none of those monthly costs are particularly low at all. I'd hold out to see if they contact you, or you can reach back out to them nearer the cut-off point, but £58.50 is far too much.

Thanks for the suggested prices. I fully intend to leave unless I get a decent deal. After 26 years of this shenanigans every time at renewal I have had enough.

I’ll post on the outcome whether I hear back from them or not.
