However, the guy had a word with his manager and applied the 50% offer.

You don't believe that ? It's rather like double glazing and other in your home sales people calling the manager for a 'special deal' for Mrs Smith.

Just went to cancel my Sky on live chat and was told that during the 31 days cancellation notice i would be charged full price (was on 60% off) for the 31 days as they remove my current offer as it was only part of a win back deal.. Surely this cant be allowed? Ive never had any issues cancelling before with a similar deal

That doesn't sound very fair, I'm in my cancellation period and am still on the 60% off.

I can't say I've ever heard of that, I'd get back in touch and challenge it.
  • Handed my notice in via My Messages today as my £35 for Sky q full pack and multiroom is coming to an end late September and due to increase to £92

Via My Message the best they could do was £56 with dropping movies, I said and no and continued to cancel.

Since cancelling 40% has appeared in My Sky, is this likely to increase or should I settle (works out at £55 a month) - new to Sky haggling as previously with Virgin for 13 years

    Any advice apprciated

From the experience I've had they seem to be getting stricter. Have been holding out for a repeat of the deal I'm on (60% off full tv package). They started off at 40%, then 50%, followed by 50% with no minimum term. That was the best it got. They're now back at 40%. Wonder if it's to do with this new reward scheme for existing customers and putting all efforts into that.

I have just cancelled mine, and been offered 60% off for another year, £22.40 this includes movies, but they want to add a £10 admin fee.. so I have gone ahead with the cancellation, not paying an admin fee. Looked on the Tv and they are only offering 40% off. The guy said the deals change on a Thursday. But I am holding off..

The same happened last year,so nothing new.

In several cases the offers were 50% for 10 months, at cancellation, followed by 50% for 12 months by email, then 60% by email, with a very short time limit (couple of days).

Some who tried to take the 60% were told that the offer was over, but those who waited for cancellation to happen got the offer of 75% off plus £100 credit via my Sky (thanks to a member pointing this out), though Sky pleaded ignorance of the credit until its origin was pointed out.
